His best chance of winning is vs Trump.

Another round of Trump as a losing candidate is a bad thing for America. Even in losing, a bunch of red states commit themselves to crazy. We need someone sane to lead the republicans out of their current full crazy madness.

vs Trump, Biden's odds are very good. Its been four years, but yea, people don't forget that fast.

I think he'd probably win against any of the GQP candidates as well TBH. He's got a decent record to run on and their all nut-bags.

But I agree with your post. A sane republican would be nice. Just not sure they exist anymore.

I'd prefer someone younger, but he's a good man and over all has done a pretty damn good job considering what he's had to deal with. Reminds me of Obama having to clean up after the Cheney admin.

Joe would crush Trump in 2024, but then, Trump would have to be eligible to run. He isn't, as per the 14th amendment. Much as I'd like to see the piece of shit lose again while dragging various dickbags down with him, his running for office doesn't seem to be constitutional. It's a shame we even have to involve the Mango Menace in this topic.

DeSantis and Pence both are spineless cowards beholden to the same crowd very much on everyone's shit list over abortion rights. Neither can hold a candle to Biden's many successes, GQP has fuck all for 2024. Their platform is voter suppression, cheating, gerrymandering, fraud, dark money and foreign intervention. We need to thank our stars they've made themselves so fiercely hated by younger generations.

I guess versus Trump he'd get my vote again. I'd prefer a different choice for vice president going forward, I've not been blown away by Harris. Maybe Mayor Pete as I don't think he's seasoned enough to run for the big job yet.

And he's going to win easily, because GOP politics are controlled by big govt culture warrior extremists, which the majority of Americans don't like.

They all have been made to wear dunce caps since Eisenhower.

Not surprising, I'd prefer someone younger too but Biden will still be far far better than whatever candidate republicans are going to crap out (most likely trump).

There are a handful - I don’t agree with Mitt Romney on many things but he’s sane. Larry Hogan too - they have been clear that they will not support Trump.

The problem that so frequently crops up with other republicans that might be otherwise sane is when asked if Trump is the nominee if they would vote for him and they say yes. So basically they are saying
‘Trump is a criminal maniac but if he’s the party’s choice then I support criminal maniacs.’ Sununu from New Hampshire did this.

This was inevitable but disappointing. I was hoping to see a primary and hoping Gavin Newsom could show what he's potentially got, and Mayor Pete also, and potentially if someone rose up like Obama did.

The Dems don't need to win just because of Trump, they need to be inspired to go to the polls and win all the other races too. Biden is just not going to do that. He BARELY won last time.

A winning candidate that is boring is better than a losing candidate that is inspiring.

Win first, then sort out the details of which policies you want to get. But if you can't win, you'll never get any of your policies.

Nope Romney and Hogan still scum. They’d rather write in a candidate rather than vote for a Dem to flush the orange turd from their party. Clean up the swamp before getting back to supporting your party.

I obviously don't get a vote so my opinion is just academic but I pretty much agree with this.
You need someone younger! You have 330million people in the country there must be someone about younger and qualified!

I don’t see how rejecting Trump detractors helps us.

Of course - but a primary could weed those people out and give us a strong candidate, it's better than only winning in case your opponent is the same dude and you can barely win again with your same dude. We don't just need to squeak by in the presidential race, every downballot race matters too. And Biden will just not inspire enough voters for that.

A poll shows most Americans when asked about a rematch of 2020 say they are exhausted by the thought of it, and that includes Biden. I mean you and I know he has done better than expected, but most people don't know shit.

It's disappointing.

Biden won by one of the largest popular vote margins against an incumbent in modern history.

The only reason it was even close was due to the electoral college. Vote count wise, which is what matters for all other races, it was a blowout.

No shit sherlock.

So are we running a popularity contest here? No. We are running within the electoral college and we are also running within other fucked up voting districts in all sorts of races. The Dem needs to inspire voters not just for the presidential ticket but down ballot. Biden won't do that.

I'm living in reality, not some theoretical popular vote contest that DOES NOT EXIST. In reality, Biden barely won by the skin of his teeth in a few swing states that took almost a week to call.

You said Biden needed to be able to motivate down ballot voters. In those races popular vote is all that matters so his huge popular vote win is highly relevant.

Yes majority don’t want either. But majority will still hold their nose and vote Biden to ensure the orange monkey loses

Popular vote would matter more if districts were drawn fairly. But they aren't. Dems need more turnout to overcome built in obstacles from both the Constitution and from redistricting issues.
