My point was atheists are one of groups that can be attacked with impunity yet lead more moral lives then these pious shysters.I'd trust an atheist over any Christian person. Not just Joel. They are all hypocrites.

But I have to ask a legit question - What church DOESN'T pass around a collection plate? I haven't been since I was little, but I remember they passed them at any and every church - so why would they make an exception?
You won't find a collection plate at a mosque or a synagogue-I guess both those religions took the story of Jesus driving the money changers out of the temple seriously. Mosques will have a collection box but it is off to the side, very unobtrusive. On certain holidays (primarily those involving charity to the poor they may have someone holding the charity box. Jewish congregations tend to have annual dues, as do some smaller christian sects.
I'm interested in the concept of religion but not particularly religious but I think it is a mistake to judge christianity based on the behavior of the mega church sharks. They are entertainers in religious garb..

It perplexes me that some atheists can be happy knowing the utter meaningless and temporary nature of existence. I wish I had been born with that capability.
