So yeah I'm sure someone has already pointed out that she was jaywalking in front of police officers during a police initiative that was specifically to stop jaywalking? I figure you don't need your ID if you're not committing a crime. If you're planning on ignoring traffic lights rather than let your heart rate drop below 140bpm, bring your ID.
ID is also handy when you get run down by some guy on the way to work checking stocks on his Iphone.
Bullshit, there is no law that says I have to carry any id.
wish they would do stuff like that in Dekalb. With NIU in town and all the students drivers have to be extra careful. Idiotic college kids will just walk out in the road. Even on pretty busy ones. they don't even look just walk out in the middle of the road.
what the hell is on the ground between her legs?
thats it. thanks. i just kept seeing turdballs or what i imagine large animal testicles might look likeSunglasses.
Believe it or not, you are, if I'm not mistaken. I always take mine with me. I don't like it, I'd prefer to not bother if I'm sure I won't otherwise need it.Bullshit, there is no law that says I have to carry any id.

Depends on the state and why you are being stopped.
TIL: You need to always have ID on you when in the public, in the US. I guess it's to make it easier to identify a person if they get killed or otherwise are unconscious?
And that Americans are apparently ok with being arrested just for crossing the road.

I don't condone the way the officers did their job, but jaywalking is a huge problem in downtown Austin. I see accidents/narrow misses all the time.
There is a valid reason they're enforcing the statute.

You just have to tell them who you are, truthfully.
There is no requirement to carry and produce an ID card, as far as I know.
If there were such a requirement, then why would there be such a big deal about getting an ID card to vote? IIRC, the big complaint about voter ID is that getting an ID card is a burden.
I don't think you are require to do so, but you must identify your name if police ask.
Do people get arrested for speeding? No they get a freaking ticket and go about their day. You don't arrest people for jaywalking. The cops were being douchebags. Write her a ticket and go about your day.
