LOL!
It's a hoax, people... just that.
Maybe some of you have seen - for a reason or another - a film that circulates on the 'Net, called "9/11- The Road to Tyranny". It's basically a sort of documentary (although "video essay" is a more adequate description) by some conservative Texan commentator, suggesting that the Federal government is evil and preparing for a New World Order, globalization and all that...
The guy who says he's a time traveller is making exactly the same allegations. Add a bit of Terminator flavour, some Yellow Peril (consequently dealt with by total elimination) and a dash of punishment to the wicked Europeans, stir in a few religious comments that hint at Protestant fundamentalism (he even says "the ten commandments are back into place") and voila, here's a picture of the world in 2036... convenient!
Add a few weird errors in grammar, a penchant for "old rock'n'roll" and light classics, an obsession with the Second World War (why not Vietnam? a period richer in examples of "what if..." instances) and repeated references to the Old Testament, and it seems to me that the thirty-odd Freedom Fighter "Diamond Nickelback" is the internet alter-ego for a much older conservative Southern Republican.
Mybe I'm wrong in my deductions, but I'm looking forward to having a virtual beer with those of you who will still be around in 2005, or even 2015... I know I'll be laughing then just as I'm laughing now.
