NY, in recent memory, has always been a heavily democratic state. Put any other Democratic candidate in place of Kerry and they still would've overwhelmingly voted for them.

AS would have Canada!

I like this idea. A lot. But I'm pretty sure Washington DC, where Kerry got 90% of the vote, would want to become part of Canada with us. You guys are going to have to build a new white house though. Bush will not be welcome in our new country.

OH YES! Canada..... I mean the United States of Canada will have more hockey teams! We get the Bruins, the Ranger, The Islanders, Sabres. We also get Penn in theis deal so add Penguins and Flyers. Alot of the original teams return to the north. Now just get the league fixed

Why did you only include the coastal areas of California? Lake Tahoe is pretty nice.

The west coast was ignored a bit since it's not rteally bunched together like the northeast is. But not a bad idea for the proposal.

California is pretty key...maybe it's GDP would be higher than the entire 'red state' US. I think it has the 5th or 6th largest world economy.

The only thing missing is a political party that would have everyones best interest at heart, both American and Canadian.

The Libertarian Party would be a perfect party to counter the other Canadian political parties. Canada's version of the LP was sadly wrecked, years ago, due to massive corruption at the very top.

If the American Libertarian Party would run in Canada with those American states then I think they would be a major player in politics and not just a bump in the carpet that they are currently in the US.

I think the political system in Canada would allow the LP to flourish and a lot of Americans might find themselves agreeing with those ideals.

One can dream no?
