I would love to visit Cali every few months since my best friend lives there and another close friend.

On a sidenote:

Turks and Caicos Islands (pop 25,000) in the Caribbean, currently a British colony, want to join Canada. They wanted to since the 70s and back then a report was drawn up indicating that it would be a poor choice.

Today they are re-evaluating that and it is a very serious and genuine belief that it's only a matter of time before the islands are annexed from Britain and will join Canada.

The question is more likely to be when will the 30 or so island chain join Canada, and not if.

Let the flames begin

So your advocating we lose our stronger American economy to Canada, halve the american population thourgh the loss of major population rich states, and create a more enriched and powerful Canada? Hmm well if it leaves bigots like you in the poor house then I am all for it. CANADA GET READY FOR THE BIGGEST WINDFALL OF YOUR NATION'S HISTORY!!!

BTW Eat this and STFU you UNAMERICAN piece of $hit!

The Libertarian Party would be a perfect party to counter the other Canadian political parties. Canada's version of the LP was sadly wrecked, years ago, due to massive corruption at the very top.

If the American Libertarian Party would run in Canada with those American states then I think they would be a major player in politics and not just a bump in the carpet that they are currently in the US.

I think the political system in Canada would allow the LP to flourish and a lot of Americans might find themselves agreeing with those ideals.

One can dream no?

If that happens Steven Harper and this conservative party will have a nightmare in every election.

I would be the first in line to join the LP. If this ever happed the LP would give Harper and his Conservatives a heart attack before they, the LP, ever ran for office.

Heh, I think you need some cartography lessons, Cow Land seems to be on that map too. Better move

Seriously though, the blue states represent about 54% of the US economy, so I think Canada would like that. And keep in mind that's with only 20 states...nice to know where the money is made. I might even start another thread about that

From another thread, wouldn't it suck to lead a nation that only 1/4 voted for you?

Again, you show your true colors by deaming non-bush supports unworthy of living in American.

Actually... not what he said, but okay.

Michigan definitely would have to come. Canada could not bear Hockey Town outside of its' borders any longer!

Seriously though, what was left of the US would quickly succumb to Reality. That being the loss of Markets, loss of Agricultural subsideis, Industry, Military capability, the loss of pretty much everything they knew before. It will never happen without a very bloody Civil War.

IHateMyJob2004, I like your suggestion but please take with you the West! California, Oregon and Washington may want to join too!

Even though its (sadly) unrealistic, a new federation composed of the american north-east and canada is a very good idea, as it would benefit everyone, except redneck states.

How do you figure that? You'll be part of Canada then and on our hit list to take out in an invasion. How long do you think your tank will hold out against our entire armed forces?

Jeez, for as much as you folks like to whine maybe you should join France instead, you seem like a better fit. I doubt the Canucks would be able to put up with you.

What makes you think some of the army wouldn't join us?

If you lose the Blue States, you lose Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington D.C., Philiadelphia,Pittsburgh, Madison, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, oh and Silicon Valley. There wouldn't be much left of your US. Perhaps you could revitalize Richmond as your capital. BTW large parts of the military would become 'ours.' Your population would be mostly rural, and would lack central cohesiveness. You would get Denver, Pheonix, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Kansas City, Charleston (where the last civil war started), Norfolk, Nashville, St. Louis.... You'd get most of NASA, but we'd get the Edwards AFB in California.
