Wait until the d2ol race ends and we break the 100,000 mark in d2ol which won't be but a couple of more weeks

your enthusiasm is infectiious!

I ran this project waaaay back at the beginning when it was bug-ridden and it would take 100% of your cpu and not hand over priority...

I'm hopping on board w/ my 3.2 ghz P4C rig

Just wanted to let you guys know that this page is out of date (the download links)

http://ghr.sytes.net/lifemapper/help.htm

I plan on installing the CLI Service for HT systems.

Anything else I should do?

[edit]
i installed the services as per the directions in the readme and the taskmanager shows 2 lifemappercli1 and lifemappercli2 running but both @ 0%.

TO fix this this need to go click on both cli1 and cli2 exe icons...which means i have 2 ms-dos prompts on my taskbar.

Is the gui slower than the CLI? Can it manage everything the same?

Welcome aboard Overkiller, I am helping the Rebel Alliance get another 5100 in seti classic...about another 9 days and I'll be running this full time again.

Glad to have you aboard and Hope you have no troubles

but there are better links such as the oficial download page and for a service install here

hope it helps

mike

after you start the cli

To install and start the services, run install.bat ie...double click

right click my computer in xp (assuming you are using xp) and and choose manage
then services and make sure that it shows up there then close everything and reboot

also in the LifemapperCLI1 registration entries you should have' -e emailaddress@etc.com -c whatevercach you need'

also the client only cached 2 Wu instead of 200...

=/

If it helps I have 2 hard drives a C and a D (the D is my main drive while the C is the storage drive [long story]). Even though i've changed both reg files in BOTH cli1 and cli2 folders to point to the "D://program files/lifemapper/etc" it still creates a program files folder on the C:/ drive w/ the 2 lifemapper folders and then just sits @ 0%

ideas?

thats because the service install points to C:\Program Files\LifemapperCLI1
if you move them out of there it cant access the files due to the registry entries
I copy the lifemapper install folder to program files and then install

and i run 2 instances as well

but i name the folders

C:\Program Files\LifemapperCLI1

and

C:\Program Files\LifemapperCLI2

so its easier to keep track

oops i forgot you can edit the registry entry to point where you want as well

also i hate gui's so no exp there

Deleted and started anew. unzipped the lifemapper install folder. Changed the reg. entries to show my email, -f, and -c 200. hit install.bat..the services installed..restarted

right now the registry entries are pointing to C:\Program Files\LifemapperCLI1 and C:\ProgramFiles\LifemapperCLI2

both processes are showing as active in task manager but 0% is being used by both services still =/

Thank you for your help, any other ideas?

Also if they are running in the task manager close them and reboot
service install should never be in the task manager on lifemapper...it should be invisible
