I hear ya, when I saw the crap they pulled with 2142, ads aside, I had had enough of their BS. I uninstalled BF2 and since then have enjoyed a computer without EA anywhere on my hard drive.Since this time I have uninstalled every other EA game I have and in addition to BF2142 it is unlikely I'll ever purchase another EA game again.

Edit: josh6079 has pointed out that BF 2142 will include IN GAME advertisements. This brings up a number of valid consumer concerns...please read through the thread and post your comments. TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CONSIDER THIS BEFORE BUYING THIS GAME...better yet...just don't buy it!

Like I've said previously, this thread isn't concentrating on just the fact that they threw in in-game advertising when it isn't fitting or necessary but the fact that they did nothing but re-texture the original BF2, slap a $50 price tag on a mod, and hide the notice for the in-game advertising inside the box--leaving some without a return option.the whole spyware thing is rubbish, theres just a few billboard ads here and there and arnt noticable less you look for them, its no more infringeing on your privacy than companies who monitor what tv shows you view or the growing use of cameras on streets and in stores, pple just look for too many excuses to get angry about something, if all publishers stopped making something cuz a few dozen want to nitpick then there would be no video games whatsoever.
