Well as long as the ET we find isn't like the ones in the movie "signs" I'll be ok

That scene where the children are having a birthday party and ET walks by and they
catch him on video is one of the most frightening things. That scene was beautifully
done in my opinion. It has the children(innocence)..grainy footage, shaking camera
and then the ET looked so real and evil!..

anyways, i hope you saw the movie so you know what i'm tlaking about :Q

12/day from my P4, 5 aday from my 1.2, 2/day from my p3-450...

on the good side my 1700+ seems to be stable @ 10x200 (2GhZ) w/ stock voltage (1.5 V)!!!!

Wonder what kind of times that thing will get

Running seti now. will check temps in a few to make sure they are within spec

Wow! thats a good speed for def voltage! ,I'll bet it'll do at least 2.2GHz with more v
I reckon you'll get about 2hrs 15mins/WU on that ,maybe a little less.Depends on the chipset ,nfrc2 are best by quite a margin compard to a KT400 ,probably not so much difference with a KT400a or KT600

WEll the P3-450 is going to Lanman for his Bewoulf setup, so that is lost for good..

Essentially this is what occurred :

The case for the 1.2 became the case for the 1700+
The case for the 450 became the case for the 1.2

The video card that was in the 450 machine was supposed to go to the 1700+..but it died.
The 1.2 runs off a Voodoo3 2000AGP card that i had hung up on my wall as a collectable :Q, lol.

The hard=drive for the 1.2 became the HD for the 1700+
HD from 450 became HD for 1.2

And other peripherals have been swapped :Q

Basically the 1.2 is still in pieces because i've spent all my time trying to troubleshoot the 1700+...eventually i figured out it was the video card and now i'm tweaking the 1700+ system to its max...But to do that i need the 9700 pro from the P4 rig..so that's off line too..

Basically its a case of too many computers, too little video cards..haha..


It would not have been a problem if the rigs were just stand-alone crunchers but the 1700+ IS a main rig for my family so i have to give it a nice video card and such :|

Oh=well..i cant say that i'm not enjoying this athlon already....

a 550 mhz Overclock with no effort already!!!

This tornado fan is mighty loud though ...sorta afraid of temps..if they are hovering around 45-50C i'll push it a little bit more..maybe 2.1-2.2
more updates as i go along...and i will be back in force...just not now.

Actually my machine was sitting idle for a couple of hours again today..I came home at lunch at as usual SetiSpy reports its IDLE and looking at the SetiClient it was stuck on Downloading WU 320K....grrr!! Once nexus9 is finished I'll clear off Seti and re-install from scratch and see if that helps.

Funny you say that ,someone else around here was saying they had the same problem ,but they were pulling WUs from a different Q.Has it fixed itself?

Inccidently my machine was off for over an hour somewhere between 1630 & 1800.Upgrading PSU (to a 550w from 300w) & tidying wiring etc.Was it about then?

Don't worry too much about downed rigs,your exams & revision are far more important! ,now get your head down & revise!

Re your P4 ,are your sure it isn't overheating? ,it could be throttling itself down.
