Joined the AnandTech Boinc team!

Hey guys,

I joined the Anandtech SETI team on the BOINC side a few days ago. I have about 10ghz running 24/7 to donate to the cause. My SETI username is TurboDieselDrew

Only one problem.... most of my machines are sitting idle with no work!

Hopefully they will get this cleared up so we can start racking up some points!

We've been having problems with server performance. To address these problems we're making some changes to our database. The project will be shut down most of today while this is being done.

From what I have seen so far Boinc sucks. I tried to activate my account last week and couldn't because they said their servers were down over the weekend. Then on Monday I tried to activate again and they said they would be down for 2 hours. Well, I never did see them come back up on Monday. I think I got activated on Tuesday and since then have been able to download like 2 work units. I hope it gets better than this....

BOINC is not the problem. The S@H project is the problem. Here is a link to another BOINC project that is working correctly.

This project seems worthwhile and both BOINC projects can coexist safely.

A few of my machines have been able to get Seti-Boinc WU's since early this morning(7/3), I will check if the rest of the herd has been able to do so when i get off work in a few hours.

Finally, for the first time my system was able to fill it's cache fully (~50wu's) so I can last a few days
Hopefully they'll fix the web stats etc soon!
