Mr. Stewart made the announcement on Tuesday’s episode. His departure was confirmed by the channel, which said in a statement, “Jon will remain at the helm of ‘The Daily Show’ until later this year.”

Satirical politic shows have been a rather major force in shaping the opinions of today's youth. Also they did a good job calling out BS and bringing some sense into things.

Who am I going to turn to now that Stewart & Colbert are gone?

I was mostly into Colbert and watched Stewart just because nothing else was on... It's okay, seems kind of time? I like John Oliver more despite thinking he was meh when filling in for Stewart.

I tried the Larry Wilmore show and it just didn't work for me. The whole panel discussion thing turned me off (it was like 2/3 of the show?) because it reminds me way too much of the mainstream media news shows that I've been boycotting.

Stewart should've replaced Letterman, not Colbert. I never found Colbert funny. Ever. Also, Stewart made all those people on that channel.

Oliver is terrible and doesn't have the finesse that Stewart has. Bloke doesn't even interview guests on his HBO show.

I don't watch his show.
I don't agree with his opinions.

But he helped the younger folks get interested in the real world. He wasn't afraid to speak his mind. He owned O'Reilly.

Terrible seems too harsh, but he's not good as his own host. He was much better on Daily Show. He rants and rambles too much, IMO. Some people are good at ranting. Not Oliver.

I disagree. I've never found Stewart or Colbert funny, and only barely watchable. Oliver to me is much better at being relevant and on topic, while still being entertaining. The fact that he doesn't interview guests is fine with me.

I've seen him a few times and he's at least decent; but funny or not, I'd rather get my news from an article in 3-5 minutes rather than watching a show.

I always found him overly abrasive...and not that funny most of the time...but i have better things to do anyway (and don't have cable. Who pays for that anymore?)

Exactly. I liked Colbert better but still barely watched his show because I just don't care for the format.
