Fashion disaster.

I mostly wear the athletic/basketball shorts, but I'm young enough to be able to pull it off.

I bet you wear socks with some adidas sandals too and think you're pulling it off. :whiste:

I'm about to turn 34, married with two kids, full time job, and a house. I don't have time or desire to keep up with fashion trends and couldn't care less even if I did. I'd rather wear my 10 year old jean shorts than waste money throwing them away and buying whatever is "in" today just to make other people happy.

I'm torn between how bad that looks and my desire to never look upon disgusting man feet. I think only the fairer sex should ever show their feet, and even then its only a few of them who can pull it off well.

I wear denim shorts approx 50% of the days of the year. The other 50% I wear other shorts made from other materials.

it is true that on weekdays, from like 8am until 7pm I am wearing long pants that are not jeans. That is due to the dress code at work. (though I work from home on Fri, so Fri I am naked.)

I guess they're acceptable if you're a 50 years old italian construction worker or you're into other blue collar jobs or doing yard work.
I noticed that in Italy they're more widespread as casualwear than here but I've never seen fashionable people use them.

Also what's a suitable replacement shorts?

chino shorts or cargo shorts (you can see people hate on cargo shorts too on the internet though).

Basketball shorts and other sporty stuff is like wearing a tracksuit imho, too casual for certain settings.

Jorts refer to jeans you make into shorts yourself, this is only acceptable if you're a redneck. Diesel & any other fashion brand make denim shorts. There's nothing wrong with wearing them unless you're wearing Lee's or Wanglers or some shit brand.

If you guys are talking about cutting jeans into short......well, I've never done that, but if you do some tailoring you can easily make them look just fine. And those that don't and have rips all over....that's fine too.

I'm wearing denim shorts right now. They never went out of style just like brown suits never did.
not too long and not too short, basically keep them around the knees and you can wear them forever. (I prefer them just above the knees)
