I just picked up Joss Stone's album for only $10.99 (canadian) at HMV.
I have to say this is the single best album I now own.
This woman has the most soulful voice I've heard in a long time and her live presence is as good as her studio work!

Meh, I don't like her affectation of a "soul sista" accent in her singing. For that I'd rather hear the original artists.

And for more modern soulful singing I'd rather hear Tanita Tikaram, Sarah McLachlan (especially Solace & Fumbling), or even Fiona Apple ("Loveridden" and "Shadowboxer" for example).

But "good" music is all about what moves you, so since she does, enjoy.

I wish I could find her sexy, but since her sister goes to my school, it's a little difficult (older sister, 18). She's pretty annoying and talks all the time. Don't really know her personally, but there is some resembalance, especially in the way both just go on and never shut up.
