Video claims to show ISIL beheading American photojournalist

A video posted by ISIL terrorists purports to the show the beheading of an American photojournalist who has been missing since 2012. The group claims the beheading is a message to President Obama to end the American intervention in Iraq.

James Foley was a photojournalist who has worked for a variety of news organizations. He was working at Agence France-Presse's company GlobalPost when he went missing. According to a website set up in his honor, he went missing while covering the conflict in Syria in 2012. His disappearance was ruled a kidnapping by the FBI.

UK Police Warn Sharing James Foley Killing Video Is a Crime



Scotland Yard has warned internet users they could be arrested under terrorism legislation if they viewed or shared the video of James Foley's murder


We would like to remind the public that viewing, downloading or disseminating extremist material within the UK may constitute an offence under terrorism legislation.



Twitter and YouTube attempted to remove all trace of the footage from the web. Twitter suspended dozens of accounts that published the graphic footage while YouTube tried to remove several copies of the video, which was first uploaded on Tuesday night. Twitter CEO Dick Costolo tweeted:


"We have been and are actively suspending accounts as we discover them related to this graphic imagery."

Best revenge we can take is to invoke world wide condemnation of them. To isolate them. To reach out to Muslim Americans and work together to ensure ISIS has no home here. That they would not be welcomed here, and that the Muslim community would snitch on them.

When we are not a safe harbor for terrorism then terrorists lose much of their effectiveness. We can shape our domestic policy to ensure that they are not welcomed here. However, that will not happen if we wedge a divide between ourselves and Muslim Americans. If we don't trust each other to work together for peace, then violence will find a way in. ISIS would hide among our "enemy".

Best way to protect Americans is to ensure that Muslim Americans are not the enemy. Your commentary falls short of this.

Its just IS (Islamic State) now. Also, journalist and photographers who head out into these dangerous places are well aware of the many situations that can occur. Its like having a photographer take photos of great white sharks and then having people cry wolf when hes killed by one. How about being tortured for two years? I'm more curious as to why they didn't show the actual beheading and instead decided to edit it out? Another question is, who did the editing? Does the terrorist group know how to edit? If not, maybe they used a journalist to do the editing, and just maybe there is a type of Morse code hidden in the edit.

ISIS isn't a joke. Can they edit video? Fuck yes they can. While the bulk of their army is angry cavemen, ISIS management has proven they could run a fortune 500 company. They're educated, determined, and organized.

Point of order here. FDR died April 12, 1945. VE day was May 7, 1945. VJ day was August 14, 1945. Thus FDR was not alive just after WWII.

I have not seen the vid (nor do I really want to) but I read they showed the beginning of it, with the ISIS guy cutting into his throat, then it fades out, then comes back in when his head sitting on top of his dead body.

Must be a terrible way to go getting your head cutoff your body with a small knife...*shudders*

I've seen a fair share of beheading videos. This one looks fake.

No blood is seen when he starts cutting into the throat. Camera quickly fades and shows a head on the body. There is barely any blood anywhere, none on the ground. It is all very quick.

Fake video. It didn't even turn my stomach. The handful of other videos made me ill. This one, not so much. It looked like a low budget horror flick.

I disagree. NO matter what you do there will ALWAYS be evil Muslim Americans from within. Nothing you can do about that. Right now you have many Muslim sympathizers and wannabe terrorists breeding from within the USA. This is a fact if past experience has anything to do with it.

My understanding is that he probably went through numerous mock executions over the last two years. If you've been through reading the speach 20 times and havent been killed, would you think the 21st time is going to be different?

As for cutting away from the video as he starts to cut, my guess is that it was very messy, and given the fact that they are using a small knife probably made him look incompetant and retarded while doing it. They didn't want it to look like they were bumbling idiots that had difficulty cutting an American's head off.

ISIS is intelligent enough to know the response to a beheading of an American. Result would not be for America to yeild. It would embroil many of us to drop the gdmn'd hammer on ISIS. So why do the video?


One of the most distubing thing to me is our media's absolute shock and awe and continual headliner of this story.
