where'd you guys learn your manners?

this guy comes in here, gives some advice and steps out of his way to type all this to maybe help some people who deal in this particular forum, and then some of you just yell at him for being an idiot!! what the heck!!!!

this is a hotdeal dealing particularly with the hot deals forum. but some people are apparently more concerned with rules rather than the whole purpose of this site to begin with, which is to help people out. :disgust:
now i wish they opened a "anandtech forum rule nazi" forum so all of you guys can go beat each other up in there. maybe you guys can become good lawyers that way or something, the way you emphasize laws over sense.

I used to run the service from my Outlook address book when it was just about 20-30 subscribers. It got tedious adding and removing users, though, as the listserv caught on in popularity. So then I looked around and decided upon Yahoogroups, to automate the subscription and dissemination processes.

Yes, Yahoogroups sticks an ad at the top of all my emails that go out. I have no control over that. That is what makes the service FREE for me and my subscribers. I do no advertising myself.

I haven't posted directly about my service because I don't want to get blacklisted for self-promotion. I figured eventually someone from my list that belongs to anandtech (Crusty I guess) would post about it and word would get around.

Again, it's a free aggregation service that saves me a helluva lot of time scanning forums for deals. My motivation was that receiving emails at work every hour was less "suspicious" than outright surfing. I work in a cubicle and am constantly under scrutiny for my web surfing vs. project code output ratio.

Some of you will see the benefit as many other already have. Some of you will not. It's all automated, and all the links' integrity are maintained, in that I link directly back to the forum deal.

No, I am NOT Dan (who has posted to this thread above, which I find cool).

I've been using Dan's service for about half a year now (since before Yahoo Groups), and don't know how I'd do without it. I REALLY save a LOT of time with it. Just wanted to pass on the good stuff.
