Junk Mail

Anyone else noticing a reduction of junk in their snail mail boxes? It's been fairly light here for a month or more, and I haven't gotten mail at all in a couple days. I'm not complaining, but it feels weird. It's like something's wrong... :^/

The web email service companies (google, MSN, yahoo, etc) are catagorizing stuff now.

Maybe I'm just lucky. I've considered getting rid of my mailbox altogether, and picking stuff up from the post office, but I get just enough good mail that it would make it a PITA. More so than dealing with junk mail anyway.

Hmm I'd say it's a tad better than it used to be. I get occasional flyers to redo my roof, buy a high end luxery car, and often from satellite TV providers. I'd say maybe 1 junk mail per week. Straight to the recycle bin, I find it's such a waste of paper and resources for companies to do this.

I also have all my stuff on paperless billing, I just wish utilities would stop making their own systems for that, and instead mail the actual bill to my email address. That way it's not something I have to login to, I just get it in my email. Gas company uses one system, hydro uses another, phone uses another, cell uses another (even though it's same company) it's so many different systems that I cant be bothered to login to every month to check. I see the money come out of my bank so I only really bother to login if I see an amount that is odd.

I've had that too, but in my case it's explainable by opting out of any kind of paper I can. I like USPS for parcels. Until I can send/receive a package over the wires, it'll still have a use, but I don't want bills, or FYI stuff in the box.

I've noticed it for the last couple of weeks. There have been at least 4 days over the last 14 days where I received no mail. I never get a lot of mail anyway, but usually there's at least one or two things for me to throw away in the box.

My junk mail has gone down a lot in the last couple of years. I assumed it was do to never ordering from most of them, or they switched to email marketing.

Oddly, I did get three Crutchfield catalogs in the last month, and I haven't bought anything from them in 15 years or more.

Here you just put apply for a sticker to put at your mail box at you local post office. BAM! no more spam mail.

Nope.. The people who lived here before us were involved in a Scientology and some other "churches". Holy crap do those people send a lot of mail.
