Its certainly the best dino park simulator. But hoping they add more content to it.

I hope they fix the main issues before adding more content. The terrain/building interaction needs serious fixing, dinosaur AI needs fixing, and certain game play elements need adjusting (small dinosaurs should never, ever be able to break through a concrete wall for example...).

First content with new Dinos come out after the movie release with said movie Dinos.

I'm pretty dissapointed after playing RCT that this game seems to be no where near as customizable. Though I only have 6 hours into it.

Customizing genome creating dinosaurs according to your need... like in movie more teeth, that's interesting.

It's kind of comical that you can engineer them to be more appealing to your guests.

---

So there's no way to automate resupplying feeders? I only have 2 pens and it's getting a little tiring.

Yeah it is funny. In Jurassic World, they talk about how people are bored with dinosaurs and need something more exciting, makes no sense. Millions of people around the world go to zoos every day of the year. A real life dinosaur zoo would have such a ridiculously long waiting list there would never be money concerns for the owners.

As for the feeders, unfortunately it's manual only. The way I usually handle it is if I need to send rangers in to medicate a dino, I'll also add tasks to refill nearby feeders.

By the way, it looks like viewing platforms and galleries are entirely useless in regards to park rating. Dinosaur visibility stat has no effect on the rating, so right now the only things the viewing platforms do is create zones that demand food and shops. So if you're looking to quickly maximize your park rating, skip the viewing galleries and just put food and shops (and a monorail station) around your hotels.

Creating custom dino to get more guests, it's more or like similar to Zoo Tycoon Dinosaur Digs expansion. The happiness of guests matters most in order to sustain a park.

The difference is going to the zoo thats 1-2 hour drive away is no big deal. Flying to another country is way more costly.

If there was a real life dinosaur zoo, even if it was on the other side of the world you can bet I would gladly fly to see it.

Thanks for the tips. I have to located my Ranger Station better. I've been obsessively refilling them when they get to 7/10 and that's probably not needed.

That's lame that the viewing stations are useless. I've spent way to much time locating them in the perfect place and spending on they 'high end' path.

You will get notified when the feeder is running low, so that's usually what I wait for. Or if I think it's been a while since the last refill I'll send out all the rangers to refill around the park at once.

I imagine they will eventually fix the visibility thing, but who knows when. In terms of transport, always put a monorail station right at the park entrance. Also monorail stations can link up your park, so you don't need paths that go all the way from the entrance to the ends of your park.

Can you extend the original monorail at the park entrance? I can't seem to do it, but I just started messing with them.

EDIT: did a little research and you can't connect to the entrance monorail.

It sound like you can go back to your other islands though and use things you research on newer islands in the old ones. I wonder if that works forward too like I don't need another dig building and can instead go back to the one on the first island run digs from there?

No you can't extend that one, that's how people enter/exit your park and you don't control it. I mean build a monorail station at the entrance to your park, and then run that wherever you need to, i.e. you want one right next to your hotels for example. Big thing to remember is to minimize really long paths, those hurt your transport rating. Use the monorail to connect far off places. I like to have a hub of buildings together, bordered by enclosures, and then have monorail tracks that go through them to other similar building hubs.

Yes you can run digs from other islands and sell/use the stuff on another island, which is a good way of "transferring" money to poorer islands. I find the loading screens annoying so I don't like to switch islands much though. And yes, any research progress you make can be used at previous islands, so you could go back to the starting island and put a T-Rex there once you unlock it. Also the reset island option does not reset genome and research progress, so don't feel bad about having to use it (I have had to several times). Money will obviously be reset.

I really wish this game wasn't locked to Universal and specific JW stuff. I want more JW assets and customization like in PC. Let us keep expanding with new areas like a park in another part of the world with a different climate that you have to manage. Give us freaking moats I don't care that they were never used in JP/JW it is a simple safety feature used in every zoo on the planet. And also allow the specific genes used to determine the actual aggressiveness so all carnivores don't have to be movie style beast mode kill everything monsters, unless you want them to be that way.

I really do like the game and am having a great time playing it with my daughters but I hope that Frontier is allowed to make some badly needed improvements in the near future.

You can but you also need more stations to unlock more sites and you can only build one per island. I do load up my inventory with high value stuff and sell them in the new island for an extra couple million in starting funds.

I remember Dinosaur Digs, but I don't remember playing too much for some reason. Think I started to experience burn out by the time that expansion hit.

Dino digs was a good game to reminisce Jurassic park feeling back then.

Yeah I think that's all we had back then. I believe Jurrasic Park was just a book at that point.

I still have the CDs somewhere, I should dig them out. I remember spending countless hours just messing around building paths.

What's really interesting is a friend of mine sells stuff on eBay and he just got rid of a sealed copy of Zoo Tycoon for $75.00
