Kadarin asked for a Jeff Goldblum cameo, and I swear I saw him on the back of a book cover on one of the control room worker's desks (the nerd with the dino characters on top of his station). Very hard to catch, but I was actually looking for an ode to Goldblum placed in the movie somewhere. Someone see if you can't spot him and correct me if I'm wrong.

There's an easter egg list out there and yes, he is.

I thought it was okay. It sort of felt like the difference between Terminator and Terminator 2 (or Alien and Aliens) where the first is a bit darker and has more suspense and the second is a bit brighter and focuses a bit more on action.

Probably the weirdest line was when the little boy says, "We need more teeth!" My thought was, "Wait... what?" Once Heels left the area, I had a pretty good idea of what she was doing, but it just seemed like such an odd thing to say.

RT critics gave it 71% and I would agree that the movie is a 7/10 overall.

Keep in mind that the Rotten Tomatoes score isn't an aggregate score like Metacritic. The Tomatometer (as they call it) is just a percentage of critics that gave it a fresh score (fresh is decided by the reviewer or staff based upon their interpretation of the score).

It was a running theme with him in the whole movie. He was counting teeth in the dinosaurs he was seeing. (You mostly hear it when they go see the Mesosaur). I will agree that when he says it it seems out of place at first, but lots of stuff is out of place in this movie.

Very forgettable movie that left me disappointed, the dialog was awkward at times and too much of the time I was rolling my eyes at the stupid things people did just to set up the movie's logic-less occurrences. I also found myself counting the various (and gratuitous) sponsors/plugs of which there were MANY, this movie was one big advertisement for some of the biggest companies. Just lots of small things that put me off, then of course the "let them fight" scene with the T-rex vs. Indominus Rex was soo pukey, how the hell can someone lure a T-Rex like that? Makes no sense. Oh and the Indominus Rex can "talk" with the Raptors and explain things in 5 seconds to make them turn on the humans? Yeah, ok. I did like that it was more bloody/scary then the other movies, but not nearly enough for me to like it.

The flare was what they used to lure the T-Rex to the goat during the attraction.

Oh and the Indominus Rex can "talk" with the Raptors and explain things in 5 seconds to make them turn on the humans?

At least in the movie, they said that's because it's part raptor, and it was communicating the same way that raptors do with each other. Although, do we even know how real raptors would work together? A lot of it is most likely just made-up stuff based upon how we think the animals would have behaved when they were alive.

Anyway, I thought the Indominous Rex being part raptor was kind of obvious given its mouth. It's mouth strongly resembled a raptor that it kept throwing me off after they said that it was based on a T-Rex. When it was biting the gyrosphere, I thought it was also part snake (because why not?) and was going to unhinge its jaw. It's really easy to see the difference when the two are fighting each other.

wouldn't be surprised if Indominous Rex had some human genes.

I got the same feeling when Chris Pratt said that it wasn't a dinosaur... but who knows...

Another odd part I thought was when we found out the scientist dude and the guy wanting to utilize raptors as fighters were actually in on this whole idea together, but they didn't have the common sense to realize that the Indominous Rex could possibly talk to the raptors...

~6/10 for me. Saw it with the nephew over the weekend, and it was basically Jurassic Park 1, only "Hey, we didn't really learn a thing from the earlier misadventure!" well, 3 times over...

The first one was, simply, a classic. Nothing like it had been seen before. The effects were amazing and, honestly, nothing noticeably improved from that to this one. I imagine effects have been improved over the last ~20 years, but there is nothing that this new version of Jurassic Park did that was more impressive than the first. There was never any tension, never any real sense of awe. It was just flat and rather boring in the end.

Afterward, my 9 year-old nephew dictated his own script for the next 2 or 3 Jurassic Park movies. Yep--the exact same as the previous...4?

This really should be considered a remake. It's basically the same movie, but without any tension or urgency.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. I thought the "keeping what it is made up of" a secret was overblown too. Who cares that it was part raptor? Why was that a secret? If it had been part human...now that would have made sense.

I was waiting for it to be part pterodactyl and sprout wings

that was dumb. Lost in this version is how truly awesome the raptors were in the original Jurassic Park.

"They remember...." At the time, that was like, "Holy wtfbbq those things are fucking insane!" You didn't see them; only their trail. They were fucking assassins.

The first time you see raptors here, they are a trained pack with Andy Dwyer as their alpha. So, an ally, so...well, far less fucking terrifying.

All of the little "clues" --testing the glass, scratch marks and the elaborate ruse in the paddock, "the mystery DNA." ...it really didn't matter. Raptors already seemed neutered and, shit--this thing could control body temp and camouflage itself anyway, so what else matters? It's a big fucking T-Rex that you can't see. (I don't want to delve into the utter stupidity of the genetics in this--I'm fine with dumb science as it is, anyway; but this was indeed fucking stupid in a way that the original version of this movie never crossed)

From what I can tell, this film was conceived as nothing more than a very expensive billboard for advertising. And this seems to have worked remarkably well.

Wow, I just learned Jimmy Buffet had a cameo in this? I won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it.. But for those who have, he's the one who has about 1 second worth of screen time running with two margaritas in his hand. I made a comment on this when I saw it because I was laughing. Had no idea it was him. LOL.

I must of watched a different movie because I thought the movie was ridiculously acted out, and the screen play completely over-done. Watching the scene cuts from the girl abruptly crying in the control booth, the ginger lady crying over the dead dinosaur after appearing the type to be able to sell her own nephews into slavery for a job, and the ridiculously casted and acted out Indian dude who is the new owner of the park made the story even less intriguing, imaginative, or fun.

I was not expecting movie of the year, but I did not give two-shits about any character in this movie except for the Blue Raptor in the end who practically gave the t-rex a "high five". This movie was pure cheesy and a long over exaggerated Mercedes commercial. I never seen so many cliches shoved in my face at once.

Just saw it today. Honestly it was better than I expected because the trailers were so terrible. Not great, but I don't regret seeing it. Product placement was annoying for sure, but it was entertaining. Certainly didn't match the feel of the first one, but frankly it's quite a bit better than the last one.

Overall, I liked it. In spite of its flaws. I think my favorite part was when the kids found the old compound and got the old car working. I guess it's safe to say the theme park took place on the same island. I would have liked a little primer though on how the park got funded and restarted on the same turf after the disaster the first park was, no doubt over what had to have been over the objections of that old guy they had a statue of in the new main lobby. Did they white wash the bad press and silence the creator? Did they bring an army to the island and hunt down and kill every last one of the dinosaurs so they could rebuild an entirely new park?

Ultimately though the moral lesson takeaway from these movies is "Never give positions of power to fat guys". I mean seriously. Fat guys are everything wrong with running a dinosaur theme park. Never let a fat guy in and you'll never have problems.

We know they didn't kill them all because the T-Rex was the same one from the original.

This is how I thought as well. Nothing special about this one, a weaker version of the first. Like you said, they tried to say they learned from the first "Park" but obviously made the same mistakes. Also the build up wasn't pulled off well. And the chick running around the park and away from dinosaurs with heels on, yea right.
