I mainly watch MSNBC but also CNN and sometimes Bloomberg. I think there's someone else too.

Anyway, regarding the debt limit, I'm seeing a lot more Pubs getting air time on the first two. I mainly check BB only if I need/want to check in on the markets.

I'm guessing a lot of you never tune in to any of those but if you do, is that also your perception.

Thought about it and decided on no poll for this but I'm pretty sure that can be changed.
Few people would listen to the news if it told more of the truth. Most can't take the pittance we are already getting and don't watch. Americans were born and raised on pablum. The truth is that nobody wants to know it. In one form or another the truth is on ignore. But don't worry, this is just an opinion I read in a book.

In any case the Republican primary is just a contest to see who gets to lose.

Haha. That last line is classic and you're abso-smurfly correct. It only becomes an issue if there's a third party like "No Labels" or Biden doesn't make it to election day.

Biden looks frail but apparently it's just bad arthritis that causes his stiff, halting walk. I suspect he's going to be around for quite a while.

As for a third party, I don't think that they can raise the cash needed to put up a viable candidate. But they COULD use the 2024 election to create some name recognition.

As for the average 6 pack Jack or Jill, their main concerns are inflation and the economy. The exceptions there are the evangelicals and the far right. You have roughly a third of the electorate that will vote for Trump even if he's wearing an orange jump suit (to match his "tan"). Everybody else is going to vote only if they feel like they have some skin in the game. Fortunately, that will include most women and younger voters.

Does anyone really think that Prigozhin is just going to fade into obscurity? And what about the 10's of thousands of mercenaries that he commands.

Apparently he's beloved by his troops and he "took" Rostov without a single shot. That amounts to an incredible amount of power and Prigozhin doesn't seem the type to just walk away.

I now have to use the moniker "lame stream media." Everybody is saying that Yevghny is Bellarus. Hmm. Do you mean this ==, Prigozhin or maybe that one over there?

The socalled news peeps are taking the Bellarusian claims that Yevy be in da house (i.e., Bellarus = as fact)

Yeah, no offense, but I'm going to need a bit more.

I just saw a pic of the donald - recent. Both of his forearms have those shallow wrinkles you get when you lose a lot of weight.

Wonder what the problem could be.

Also, why are we just making this guy healthier?

So . . . you see, slavery was just a sort of mandatory votech

edit: for those not familiar, this is the basic message in the new FL social studies guidelines.

OK, this is definitely crazy, but hear me out.

Chis Christy. No chance, right?

Well, it seems only about 25% of new recruits to the military satisfy their requirements. In other words, we're a nation of fat people.

Since people seem to be attracted to other people that remind them of themselves, who better to be their choice? Since I really don't think the donald is going to be an option by November of next year.

Haven't watched any of them in many years now, though I will check out written articles. Hell those have a chance to be decent even on Fox (though they'll bury certain headlines on their site which is hilarious!).

The only decent cable news shows are on cspan because it might bother to talk at length and provide some context. No eagles and banners and URGENT BREAKING news with powerful epic music. Ie, bore the pants off the average Joe. Maybe something on PBS but I don't even know what is on anymore, we pretty much ditched cable at home.

CNN now effectively controlled by a right wing extremist who is gradually shifting their coverage into Fox-lite (still work in progress)

MSNBC news shows still generally follows the anachronistic practice of giving fair air time to both sides, even when one "side" is completely insane, but I haven't watched enough to say if this has changed recently - although their talk shows still lean quite left.

Bloomberg is just reliably pro big-business on every topic, which generally means giving lots more air time to Republicans
Actually, MSNBC rarely wastes peoples time with the other sides vacuous personalities.

OMG, the more I hear about how the Dumpster tried to hide his "beautiful mind" boxes . . .

Hang on a sec, this is just too f'ing funny.

the more it feels like I'm watching an old Keystone Cops movie. It was beyond inept and they fucked up at every . . . possible . . . turn. It's almost like it was scripted. Except even a chimp wouldn't have been that stupid. I can't stop thinking about just how mind blowing it is.

Sorry I missed this. Faux News lite? I guess as long they don't deny reality, I'm not really opposed to a news org. having a bias. I mean fvch, the idea of balanced coverage is a myth. We need to adapt to that.

That's why I watch MSNBC - and you're right about them. They DO at least make the effort.

The thing is, no matter what anyone, anywhere BELIEVES, we all still live in the same universe. So whether you favor the lemon or pine scented version, reality is still . . . real.

Associated Press and Reuters are about as neutral as you can find these days, and why I get my news through their sites instead of anything on TV.

I don't fault anyone for choosing to get their news on television, some don't feel they have the time for text, and want a quick rundown of the day's happenings. I do have the time to read and skip around the sites each day, and I feel it's the least amount of bias or slant you'll find.

Four state GOP orgs are essentially bankrupt.

I'll try not to hurt myself, patting myself on the back, but way back, prob'ly around the 3rd year of the Dumpster, I posted (not here) that this is what the death of a political party looks like.

I can't remember what prompted that and I certainly had no idea how that would happen, but it looks like it's starting, finally.

I wonder how quickly this metastasizes. Depending on that, by Nov of next year, the GOP might be the third party.

So long, and don't forget to f*** yourselves.

Shows way to many votes (no new information), and not enough individual committee hearings. And American Journal is an abomination.
