the one with regards to Ilife, If microsoft did the same thing and bundled it with windows, everyone else will start crying foul and microsoft is using monopolistic practices. They can't win. but with a 90% marketshare, Gates, Balmer and the rest of microsoft's execs laugh all the way to the bank.

i understand the fact that macs have different (not saying better) software but how is the hardware superior?

same intel processors as dell.
same memory as dell (dell offers ddr 4200 as default but also offers an option for ddr 5300)
same hd as dell (samsung, others)
slot loading drive (different in style buts its more of a gimmick)
ati/intel graphics card (can have better ones on dell like the nvidia go series)

apple does have great design. but its all made in taiwan/china like dell/hp, etc.

Any commercial that starts out with 2 men holding hands usually creates and urge in me to change the channel ASAP.

But yeah, the commercial is weak. I like any kind of advertising that uses a creative kind of tactic, but that was weak.

They don't reboot on their own. Instead they give you "Restart Now" popups with little bomb icons.

Unless you count the SBLive (which wasn't incompatible, just out of spec).... uhhhhhhhh. Never? Unless you're talking about software being incompatible with the hardware. Which never happens, either, thanks to the API layer that's been inserted between the two in the post-DOS era. Advantage: None.

The software is the same, though there is significantly more variety for PC. Advantage: PC.

I find it a total cock and a half to use a mac because the operating system is constructed from a touchy-feely standpoint instead of an organizational standpoint.

Windows has INSANELY powerful management capabilities that let me make my Windows PC into whatever I want it to be with minimal infrastructure. Mac.... not so much. It's doable, but you need to be a unix developer to do it. You can't just point and click.

So, what I just said means that for n00bass morons, macs are better.
For users with an idea of what they're doing who want to operate the computer as a tool, instead of having to jump through hoops - PCs are better.
For system administrators, macs are a NIGHTMARE. And system administrators always get what they want.

For the nerdy guy meant to look like Bill Gates, the subtitles should be "has house in the Hamptons and condo in Florida, and college loans are paid off. Uses PC for development and business purposes"

I mean seriously, I've listened to Apple users bash Intel for over a decade, then they wait in line for two days to buy laptops on dual core Centrinos that have to run Photoshop in emulation anyways. What is wrong with these people?
