Hehe, too bad I'm used to all that gee-whiz electro gadget shiznit My dad's Highlander Limited has:
ABS
Electronic Traction Control (self explanatory)
Electronic Stability Program (keeps you from turning into a greasy spot on the windshield in quick, high-speed maneuvers)
Electronic Brake Distribution (wheels can be braked individually on demand)
I've run up against ALL of those considering how I gun that thing
It's amazing what all of this computer crap can do on vehicles these days. I was driving 70MPH in the fast lane behind a group of cars in the Highlander one day on the highway. I look at my left mirror for a second, then glance back forward...the whole train of cars is slamming on brakes (rubber-necking idiots, there was a car on the left side of the road up ahead). Definitely not enough time to stop, I quickly glance over to the right then jerk the wheel to the right once the coast is clear (this still with the cruise control pegged at 70MPH) into the right lane then a short correcting turn to the left to get back straight. Then I had to slam on the brakes to stop from hitting the cars in the right lane who were too slowing down. This 3800 lbs SUV just tracked right on through with not much drama at all.
My stomach was in my throat though and I had sweat pouring off my forehead and the sudden urge to want to throwup
