This is not a bad deal, but I've dealt with these monitors at a place I worked for some time ago. Essentially, a lot of them get out-of-focus areas, which cannot be corrected with the controls. I tested a bunch, and only found 1 decent one (out of about 6, which were unacceptable b/c of that problem mostly).

I bet you're gonna get a good one from that seller.

I just installed mine and is working flawlessly . Geometry was just perfect out of the box. I removed an halo in the bottom-right corner after a degauss.
I'm using a 1360x768 @144hz . I don't like using higher resolution because everything become too small .

Image is crisper than my old Viewsonic p220f.

I didn't noticed in the first place. It has a 1" crack in the bottom-right corner. DOH!

Still gaming on a 3 year old (or so) Dell P992 19" CRT with the trinitron flat screen. LCD's are about one more generation or some away from me hopping in for gaming use. I use a LCD at work, and we have one on my second computer so I am not opposed per se. Just cheap.

mikeford, if you were a gamer and actually appreciated a nice image, you would understand why I posted about this monitor. there are plenty of CRT enthusiasts out there who refuse to step-down to LCD quality IQ.

Jeez, you think this guy is pumping his own business?

I think so.

I was offered a pair of 2005FPs at work to replace my current 21" Trinitrons.

I kept the Trinitrons.

Actually, a tricky issue has come up... remember I said they offered free shipping? Well, I fired off an e-mail asking them if that included Puerto Rico, just to be sure, since you never know... this was on a Friday, and I couldn't wait so I went through the process and their order form calculated $0 shipping on the monitor when I filled it out, so I was happy (because it's usually around $200 to have a monitor shipped here), and ordered it without any problems.
I selected my country from the list and everything... now, Monday, the guy answers my e-mail about the free shipping and says it's only available in the continental 48 states, and I'm like, hey man, your order form calculated $0 shipping when I filled it out, and it didn't do that with the OTHER monitors (the ones without free shipping), so don't try to back out now! Still waiting for his/their answer, and my order status is "in process". Heh, let's see what trickery they pull outta their ass...

I am also in the I luv my CRT boat. Everytime I'm at a LAN and see somebody playing some FPS on a LCD I cringe. The motion blur is almost nauseating.

Keep in mind that a 19" LCD often has the same viewable image area as a 21" CRT, which is measured by the size of the tube even if a couple inches are behind the front bezel.

And I still think more than $50 for a crt is nuts.

Last time I checked, a vast majority of 21" CRT have 20-20.1" of viewable area not 19"

The original posting is BS. I mean, why not say "2006 Toyota Camray $2000" for a link that brings you to a salvaged car that has been squeezed into an accordian and that survived the Katrina flood to boot.

$269 for a brand new P1230 would be a good deal. $269 for a USED (and by used I mean probably on 24/7) monitor is a waste of my time, since I wouldn't have clicked on this thread if the item were properly listed.

I got a Compaq P1220 form Aztek and wasn't blown away by it. I was replacing a P1220 that I had from new and had died. My original looked a lot better. The one from Aztek was not as bright and fuzzy. Put it this way, my Dell 2001FP looked better in text and graphics. It's sitting on my server right now.

I purchased a new Mitsubishi 2070SB from Azatek a few weeks ago. It was listed as new, with the disclaimer "Plastic imperfections are possible due to bulk storage (comes in brown box)." There is small scratch on the front bezel but it is hardly noticeable. $369 shipped.

I just got around to hooking it up this afternoon. I installed Naviset and it indicates the monitor was built at the end of 2002 so it is a bit older than I would of thought. I was thinking like 2004 or 2003 at the latest. In any event, it is a fantastic monitor. I did a few initial tweaks but will wait for final adjustments until I get some time on the tube.

If you can find a 2070 I would say jump on it. Unfortunately, Azatek is now listing it as out of stock.
