Just got it today from NEWEGG. Just finished installing XP and drivers. I havent tried any OC yet, nor have I put my 2nd 8800GTX in yet.

I was hoping before I ventured into OC and SLI territory I would ask for tips and impressions from anyone out there who has already done overclocking and SLI on this board.

I had my 2 8800gtx's running in SLI on an ABIT FP-IN9 and it was less than impressive, almost, lack luster. (I was using non-SLI ready memory)

Now I have OCZ PC8500 SLI ready memory and a better PSU. (Coolermaaster Real Power 850)

CPU=Core Duo E6600/BFG 8800GTX x 2 (not set up in SLI yet)
2 x 320 Seagire Barracudas in RAID 0
Most recent BIOS (6.04 I think)

So, I want to start over clocking and set it up with SLI but I would like to read some experiences people might have had so I have an idea of what to do and not do.

Yes, I have done a search and found bits and peices but not much in the way of actual experiences with OC and SLI on this board.

Thx ahead of time for any suggestions, guidance, recommendations, etc..

I have this board. Personally I like it a lot so far. I had some issues getting it stable initially but it ended up being as simple as getting updated chipset drivers that had some beta VISTA drivers (since you are using XP this should not be an issue for you). Haven't moved into the SLI yet. So far just running a single 8800GTX.

I have it stable at 3.1Ghz with little to no effort. Running an E6600 so its about a 30% OC. I am running Corsair PC6400C4.
My settings currently are
- Overclock (Manuel) : FSB 1380, Memory 800
- Overcoltage: Memory 2.1v, NB Voitage 1.55v, VCore 1.375v
- Memory Timings: 4-4-4-12-2T

I have heard this board is very picky with memory that you use. If you are using 8500 you should be fine but don't be to surprised if you can't get 1066 and have to clock your memory down some.

I am going to be trying to get 4gigs of memory going with it tommorrow, but I will most likely have to run it at 667Mhz to get it stable but we will see.

I'm using OCZ memory. 2gb of the 900MHz speed DDR2. Not running SLI though. I bought this motherboard because I had confirmed reports that it had no problems with a Areca RAID controller in it. I currently have a 8800GTS and an Areca ARC-1220 RAID controller running with no problems. The first board I received I had to RMA due to a bad memory controller, but I haven't had the slightest bit of problems with this board.

This is a very strong board and now its incredibly cheap. I paid twice as much for the RAM. The board is also a gold mine of features. Well most of these factors benefit from the 680i chipset...

I have problems with the supposedly amasing software from ASUS: PC Probe II and AIBooster. On windows XP, I tried installing from the CD, or downloading most recent installers from ASUS website and they behave very strangely: Both programs have an icon on the tray, but it is impossible to display their window. PC Probe is running as "overclk.exe" in my task manager and uses 50% CPU - not responsive. If I either PC Probe or AIBooster run at startup, its impossible to do a clean shutdown.

I've tried Nvidia's NTune with no problems; although the functionalities are limited (cannot adjust RAM timings and frequency) - thus needing to install AI booster (I've uninstalled all Nvidia software before trying AIBooster).

Please help!
