Just bought a house.

3 yrs ago i sold my last house, it took me three years, but we're buying another house. put the offer on it this weekend, we got pretty much what we offered.

yup. and it actually seems bigger than the 2848 they claim. the rooms are HUGE in the house, 4 bedrooms 2.5 baths.

the story behind why it didn't sell before is pretty sad tho. the owner sold it to another family for about 20k more than we are getting it for, but the husband was shipped out to iraq just before closing, the mortgage company wouldn't give him a loan and so the house didn't sell.

shouldn't there be some kind of govt guarantee for soldiers being sent overseas?

big bucks, i don't think so. in that neighborhood the average house is over 550k. the neighborhood accross the street the average is 650k.

ya, southern cal is crazy, but so is north jersey. i couldn't afford a house in NJ but in Pennsylvania, not so bad.

of course way more than you'd pay in the midwest (chicago are excluded) or the southeast.

My friend has a 2800sq house and it does not come close to the picture of your house.

i put in the offer 2 days after we first saw it. it took two days because initially my wife had her heart set on another house, but we were advised against the other house because it had powerlines in plain view from the back yard.

oh i c, you are talking about the OP where i said "this weekend".

ya, i meant last weekend. we put the offer on the house on saturday (two days ago) and it was accepted with a couple of modifications and we have both signed. we now have an agreement of sale and i've scheduled an appointment for inspections to take place thursday morning.
