My brother was just out in Yardley/Newtown house shopping last weekend and is going back out this weekend again. Rumors of his company moving to the area so he's checking it out, nice place, congrats!

well, it's just accross the river from trenton. most of my clients are still in NJ so i can't leave the area.

but, this is a great deal for me, plus my health insurance rates will drop in half, my car insurance will go down about 20% etc.

a good school district, and we are also members of http://www.newtownathletic.com/ it's only about a 15 minute drive from my new house.

it's a great gym but very very family oriented not like Golds or the other gyms.

Dumb California.

Oh, congrats!

ya, southern cal is crazy, but so is north jersey. i couldn't afford a house in NJ but in Pennsylvania, not so bad.

of course way more than you'd pay in the midwest (chicago are excluded) or the southeast.
...Cali real estate is just plain crazy. The median price is now $526K. :|

Nice house, but they rip you guys off in the north.

That'd go for 200k in the south.

so.. what kind of monthly payment is 465k?

in San Antonio, that would equate to ~4,300 per month.

You won't regret that until it's worth less than $650k.

PlatinumGold, I thought you live in NJ, why'd you move to Yardley? Do you have clients in that area?

$50k is a great deal.

I used to lay out houses in Haverford (Philly suburb sort of) as a side job in the early 90's and the house were going for $700k plus then (3000ish sf, about 2/3 ac) so it can be pricey down there.

I'll move into one of the extra bathrooms & come out every once in a while to catch the Braves game.

i do live in NJ, basically accross the river from yardley. moving there because health insurance, car insurance, property taxes are all cheaper. for gas i'll just drive accross the river.

that's really good. Texas reams homeowners with property taxes. We have to make up for no income tax, i guess.

our house cost 169k and we pay almost 1600/month.

I feel your pain, living in the Bay Area isn't ideal for buying a house.

I'll just wait till the bubble goes pop. Yes, there is a bubble. And yes, it will go pop.
