QFT suffering...That's more than enough square footage for a couple and a kid. And they get to be close to a vibrant city instead of stuck suffering out in the boonies

Not sure what qualifies as a "nice" neighborhood.

Mom isn't letting me step in until she blesses it on Monday and move in until Thursday cause apparently that's my "lucky" day. Darn asians and our weird customs.
Will take pics after lol.
Wow, and I thought I was in BFE. Wife and I just bought a 1100ft2 house on 2 acres with 23 ft2 garage, 38x60 pole barn and a 12 ft shed for 168k. I am in central Ohio, an hour from Columbus.Just for perspective. I just bought a 40 acre farm: 1000ft2 house, 40x100 pole barn, 24x40 garage, plus extra outbuildings for only $115,000.
I paid $1.50 for my cardboard box under the overpass. I sold it to some chump for $10. I used that to put gas in my old used van, which I park down by the river at night.
You fail so miserably every time you make an attempt at being clever or humorous.
Congrats. I've had a house for awhile. The main downside is you dont truly own it... but it does have more room.
I have no problems with home ownership and wouldn't mind it myself, but ya, some people forget what happens if they stop paying property taxes. And you can't start a uranium upgrading facility on your land because of dumb whiny neighbors. And expropriation / eminent domain.
I've lived in several different HOA properties and none have been that bad. Just gotta read the bylaws, they seem long at first but they're really not that bad to get through. As long as you don't disagree with any of it you're good to go.HOA = home owners association. It's not something you want to live in but may be hard to avoid in some areas. HOAs basically dictate what you can't and can do on your own property/house and tend to be very strict, much more strict than municipal bylaws, which themselves can be BS sometimes (ex: some cities in the states don't allow you to collect rain water). Some HOAs don't allow you to have a garden, or a flag, or will dictate that if you do have a flag it has to be a very specific size. Anything you paint has to be a specific color etc. Most don't allow solar panels or wind turbines because "it's ugly". Basically it's to keep things very cookie cutter. The idea behind them is that if someone has something that's ugly or does not match with rest of houses it could lower the property value of other houses.

Pro tip: Park your van in really nice neighborhoods. When the property owners ask you to move it, offer to leave in exchange for gas money. Move to another really nice neighborhood.
Wow, really, no blinds? I got a couple of Lowes gift cards as housewarming presents when I bought my house and they're definitely useful. There are so many little things you don't expect or think about. That's from Shameless, good tactic. Instead for them it was a stripper van.
Side note, just bought a new house too and I was unaware that blinds don't come with the house. Ugh! So much shit to buy when moving in.
condo might be "home", but "house" it is not
what does HOA stands for...
