Just bought a monitor...

I just bought a used Dell P780 flat screen, but the lady at the store gave me a NEC FE700 instead. I paid about $100 US ($160 Cdn).

Also, there are 2 small lines across the screen, one about 1/3 down the screen and 1 about 1/3 up the screen.

Should I keep the NEC or return it and get the Dell?

Are the lines a sign that the monitor has been repaired?

it's your choice but i'd probably go back and exchange it back for what you intended to get... as for the lines, these are integral parts of th mointor hardware as they make the "flatness" of he screen possible and is used on all the Sony style trinitron flat CRT's

I'm really indifferent, I just want a monitor - I was using a 14' for 3 weeks after my old one blew. It's not really worth the hassle of exchanging it unless the Dell P780 is a lot better than the Nec FE700. They're both flat screens, I also want a monitor that is not that long towards the back.
