Ok, so anyone with a RAZR, quick questions......

1) how much memory does it have?

2) Is there anyway to delete the stock photos and ringtones that came with the phone??
(cant do it manually through the phone, as thier locked and wont let you erease them)

***I have no way of hooking my phone to my computer via USB, as i dont have the correct software***

1. I believe it's ~30 Meg total, not including the crap which Verizon puts on there-

2. Yes, there is a way to do it, but as stated above, check out this forum over at howardforums.com... if ya have any questions (it's difficult to follow some of their posts due to length/organization problems) feel free to let me know. I've just spent all weekend updating and "fixing" the things which verizon disabled on this somewhat nice phone.

You can find the software to hack the phone ....I hacked mine as soon as I got it almost a year ago....and its been fine. I got the video recording function as well as the icons to work...and raised the volume of the earpiece just a little. The menu is faster also than what it was originally. The razr is not a bad phone....although I will admit that its not for people who are rough with their phones. The reception is good(improved with the firmware flash) and works just fine.

Well that'd be quite a trick since T-Mobile is a GSM network, and Alltel is CDMA.

(in other words, their phones are not at all compatible)

Alltel & Verizon are both CDMA, hence a phone for one can work on the other.

Anyway, what does the Altel firmware do? I got my phone through US Cellular, would I be able to do this on my phone if I wanted?

Ditto. I love mine, it's really been fine.

I'm through Cingular though.

Is a great guide on how to do it!

I have the bluetooth headset and all I have to do is turn it on and my phone picks it up. It didnt used to do that under the Verizon firmware. I have a couple of minor things to fix and I still need to learn my way around my phone book better, but things are pretty sweet

So no "Thanks" to me for sending you over there?

I am very happy with the RAZR so far.

Does anyone have a link to a user guide PDF for the new firmware? I dont need to know how to install it, I already have it. I am looking for a user guide on all of the options in the menu, and how to get everything setup the way I want it.

Thanks!

I use it when I am in a meeting or somewhere where it would be rude to speak on the phone...

Whats the point of calling a friend your meeting up with when your already at the resturaunt and all you need to tell him is the name of the resturaunt, or the street, or that your ordering so he needs to hurry?

Or if your with company and someone needs another persons number...why call them just for that when you can text it just as fast, but without being rude by talking in front of others or getting up and leaving the room?

It has its advantages
