Interesting. How do you feel about PETA?
That's not interesting. What in God's name does one have to do with the other?
Look, I love cats. But if some random vagrant cat is roaming around the OP's yard and killing birds, the OP has every right to get rid of it. Kudos to him for taking the cats to animal control instead of merely shooting them or something.
The people with a cat hardon here aren't helping their cases. If the cat belongs to someone, it's not being properly supervised and belongs in a pound. Hopefully the owner will realize it ended up there and wise up and start keeping it inside. If the cat is truly feral, it doesn't belong in ANYONE'S yard whether it's gobbling up baby birds or hosting a cat version of Burning Man and not hurting anything. If a javelina starts running around in my backyard I'm not taking a "Oh it's nature, let it roam free in my backyard killing stuff" attitude with it. Although actually, I'd probably just shoot it, as I hate javelinas with an all-consuming passion.
