To those who are complaining about Just Cause 2 incompatibility with Windows XP: You're using a 9-year-old operating system. Developers are gradually moving away from XP and developing specifically for Vista/7 now. That's just what happens.
Just Cause 2 is undoubtedly a kick-ass game, one of my favorite this year. It feels like you're playing inside of a blockbuster action flick. The game can also be described as Grand Theft Auto on steroids. You can blow up a fuel tower, grapple onto an airplane flying above you, attack the pilot, hijack the plane, crash it into a radio tower, and skydive out. It's all kinds of awesome. I never get tired of the explosions.
The DX10 graphics are seriously fleshed-out and optimized too. It's a beautiful looking open environment that runs well.
Does it even make sense to run XP on a gaming rig? Since the 64-bit version of XP is basically useless, going with XP 32-bit not only puts a 4 GB ceiling on your RAM, but you'll also end up with most current graphics cards stealing at least a quarter of your memory address space. Combine that with more primitive multi-core processor optimization and hardly any optimization for SSDs, and XP really isn't up to the task of running even a budget gaming rig these days. It's really time to put it to pasture.
