I have no problems with it, not slow at all.
Crysis runs at 30-40 FPS at the "free" ultra high settings at 1680x1050 on my 8800gt.
This game runs in the teens at 1680x1050. Even GTA IV runs better...
You must have been playing Crysis in DX9 mode to get that performance out of that card at those settings. I had the same card and it would choke in DX10 at max settings. I could get "playable" performance when things were at medium settings. DX9 with settings cranked still didn't look too shabby, especially if you knew how to go into the ini files and further mod the engine (or used the utility that did that for you based on system specs).
Just Cause 2 is a DX10 only title. I'm not surprised a nearly 3 year old graphics card is starting to show it's age.
The forums over at Eidos are full of bugs/glitches/requests for a patch. After taking a glance at what people are upset about I'm definitely going to wait for a patch before I buy..

I know my experience is a drop in the bucket, but I say don't wait, buy the game.
Edit: What settings can be toned down without much visual impact to improve Framerates? I'm usin Vsync and goin from 60 to 30 feels like getting punched in the gut, would like to stick at 60fps.
slower != slow.
It does run slower than Crysis at equivalent resolutions.

Umm, you might want to check something, because Just Cause 2 runs much better than Crysis comparatively.
Yeah it's performing perfectly here too, maxed out on a 4890 (at 1680 x 1050).
I have a quad core, maybe it's also cpu-dependent?
Brokeh filter and SSAO are the biggest things that can be turned off or set to the lowest setting for much better performance. AA would be the next thing.
I went ahead and bought the game, to my dismay the bugs really are as bad as they say. I'm very surprised to hear anyone has played this game 3-4 hours without experiencing a bug.
In 2 hours of gameplay I had one instance where my character model was stuck inside of a car. I couldn't move, shoot, grapple, throw a grenade.. I had to load the last checkpoint.
In another I was really high up and parachuted right before hitting the ground. It 'broke' my left arm (couldn't grapple) nor could I throw grenades. Same as before, had to reload checkpoint.
That being said, the demo is a poor example of the games graphics and 'area'. I'm still happy with the game but will be a LOT happier with a patch. I still have input lag issues and it's very difficult to drive vehicles (fast cars in particular)
Disable point light specular, bokeh filter, and SSAO. That should fix your input lag issues.
Yes, I'm running it just fine with my system (5750) all setting high @ 1280x1024. Not one slowdown.
I'm glad I sold my e8400. A quad core is a must with newer games.
So, did anyone run into CF+EF issue with this game? I KNOW it works, because I wasn't watching a slideshow for the first 2 or 3 hours that I played. Everything went downhills after I closed it and restarted....
Just tried single monitor, slowdown still occurs (~30fps while viewing certain objects, 100+ otherwise), so it seems to be exclusively crossfire or my pc?
