Already a horrible start to summer for San Antonio. Had our two worst summers ever recorded the last two years, and this one is shaping up to be every bit as bad with 103 forecast for Sunday. Today's no prize either, only 93 at 1:30PM but it's so humid the heat index is 106.



Still 92 in May in New Hampshire is nuts. Even in San Antonio our historical average high temperature for July is only 94. But this May is insanely hot even by South Texas standards.

Dallas is in tornado alley and gets horrendous thunderstorms and Houston is pretty rainy. San Antonio area has been plagued by drought since 2022 and lots of lakes out here are struggling.

I have a very small pool, 10' round by 30" deep. Only holds about 1,000 gallons. Enough for me to get in, sit, soak and cool off for a while.


But it's already warm. Probably around 80 degrees and it's only May.

LOL was watching the local news and they were saying as this high pressure system moves a little west we might get a less hot front in early next week. But right now we have a trifecta of suckage with high 90s temps, crazy muggy low 70s dewpoints even in the hottest part of the day, and horrible air quality thanks to agricultural burning in Mexico.

In Wisconsin for work during a heavy storm and tornado warning. Got 'stuck' at a bar at a restaurant and had to wait it out till we could walk back to the hotel during a lull. Ooof that bar bill got a bit excessive for a lot of us but it was better than being outside. Quite the lightning show raging outside atm

I was melting here in Boston till my husband came home & put the AC in, sitting here in my little recliner enjoying cool air, I might sleep here tonight. High temps for the next few days, then back down into the 60’s next week.

I don’t do heat well at all, breathing is hard. AC is expensive but so worth it !

My apartment has central air, but I haven't turned it on yet. Fortunately, I was out and about today for a meeting, so didn't have to be home. But also, I've found in this type of weather, keeping the windows closed or minimally open, and the shades drawn slows the heating of my place. And when the sun sets, I can pop a window fan in to bring in cool air from the outside.

Of course, there will come a point where I throw the AC on - usually just setting it to 76 during the day to keep the humidity down.
