I'm not anywhere near any of that. Our highs have been in the upper 80s to low-mid 90s with high mugginess. I have a sort of toy pool, 10' round, 30" deep, holds about 1,100 gallons. Got it just to take a dip in to cool off. Sit for a while to bring the inner temp down a bit and rinse some of the sweat off after yard work before I come inside.

But even though the temps haven't been insanely high, the water temp is in the 80s. Wet, but not real refreshing.

Speak Imperial Metrics please. Hahaha. Kidding. I'm trying to adapt and these little comments help.

Hit 32C (90F) today. It was nice. Went to McD's and ate lunch in the car with the black feral watching.

I love the Tomtom navigator. It's slow AF with the updates but I let it run when I get out of the car. I'm going to have to get a 12 VDC extension so I can plug in to the ancient, 15lb Stanley jumper box. I still use that because of the all of the ports it has and I only have to charge it once or maybe twice per year.

Oh my, fireworks already tonight. Don't think I can fit under the bed tho

Fireworks (on the beach only) became legal yesterday at noon. Midnight tomorrow they become illegal...so, of course, they'll continue all through the weekend. With all the indian reservations around western WA, just about every kind of firework will be going Flash! Bang! Wheee! BOOM! One of the locals has a wholesale connection and has a uhaul trailer with $30,000 worth of fireworks that will be (mostly) expended by tomorrow midnight. He started last night, shooting off about $3000 worth, he estimated he'll shoot off about $8,000 to $10,000 tonight.

Dew Points in the low to mid 70s make it hard to breath, or really do anything at all. The air is just too heavy. Suppose to drop into the low 60s tomorrow which will help some.

We had non-stop fireworks all around us last night. This is the first Independence Day in many years without fire restrictions so people are working through their stockpiles.

We're due for the mid-high 90s over the next few days. I got a second portable AC so that I don't have to schlep my current unit from the living room to the bedroom and back.

There were at least two fires last night in the dunes that separate the beach from the houses...plus someone set the big dumpster on the beach ablaze.
Fortunately, both things are regular 4th of July occurrances...and the local fire dept. was prepared.

Stockpiles you say? Don't the traditional gunpowder infused fuses get wonky with age. I think that's how a lot of peeps get one or more fingers blown off. I might buzz down I95 next year to get some fireworks. But I'll lighting them with an 18" fireplace lighter.

Don't forget to rotate yourself and baste every 20 minutes.

You think 70s are bad you should see 80s. Had a day last year where our heat index was 125 thanks to a dewpoint of 80 something in the hottest part of the day (and I remember dewpoint peaking at 84 around midnight that night). Felt like I was in Saudi Arabia or some shit.

From the weather station a couple of blocks away

Ugh for the longest time it looked like we were going to get rain and a major cooldown from Beryl. When it was forecast to hit Mexico at a similar place to where Alberto hit it was going to throw a bunch of rain at us for days. Then two days ago it was going to northern Mexico, even better, more cool air more rain. Then yesterday it was going to hit right at the border, best case 6-8" rain and 4-5 days in the 80s. Then today no the 4PM forecast from NOAA had the cone centered at Corpus Christi for landfall and the hurricane's cone centered about 60 miles east of San Antonio and the forecast dropped off to maybe getting one day in the 80s, a couple in the low 90s, and maybe 2" of rain. Now the cone is centered all the way up to Port Lavaca for landfall, the center of the cone is a lot closer to Houston than San Antonio, and we're just in the very edge of the cone. We probably won't get shit in the way of rainfall and I bet tomorrow's NOAA forecast barely gives us any cooling from it if any at all. Ugh like a couple of days of 96 with high humidity might be all we can look forward to now. Which is probably worse than what it is currently at 99-100 every day but with daytime dewpoints in the high 60s to low 70s.

The lesson there is that it doesn't like it when you watch. It's shy. Pretend you're not following it and it will come right back to you.

It warmed into the mid 70s earlier in the day…then the on-shore breezes kicked in, (it’s HOT inland from us) and the temp is down to about 67F. Just right.
