Low of 53 this morning. With doors and windows open the last couple of nights, I've brought the interior temperature down to 68. That cools the mass (doors, walls, furniture) which helps to store the cool and retards heating during the day so I don't need AC. If I can keep it cool for another day/night cycle, it should help me avoid (or at least reduce) AC for at least a day or two once the heat builds in again outside by Monday.

Made 64 this morning. Forecast for upper 90s again today. Same kind of 30 degree spread for the next few days. With the low dewpoints, I can manage to avoid using AC in the afternoons and evenings.

I got through abut 5 days with no AC at all, then another 2-3 with only a few hours in the late afternoon/early evening.

Not gonna happen for the next 3-4 days though. Gonna be runnin' the chillin'.

Been 88F to 93F (31.1 to 33.9C) the last few days with similar weather forecast the next 7. Freaking godsend after 14 days in a row of 100+ with the heat wave ending on days around 110. 93F (33.9C) feels so freaking cool after a couple of days of 110F (43.3C). Nice to be able to actually wear a shirt inside again lol.

Been pretty mild here in San Diego this summer. High 70s to low 80s during the day with temps in the 60s at night along the coast.

San Diego (coastal) perhaps the best overall climate in the USA. Rarely too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. However, go inland just a few miles…welcome to Hell.

I work in Poway but I only go in to the office twice a week. It can be in the 70s along the coast but in the 90s in Poway. Thankfully we haven’t really had any over 100 degree days yet.

Hard to imagine any climate better than the Mediterranean Climate in Westwood when I went to UCLA, but every time I have gone to San Diego it was freaking beautiful, and I went there all the time since it wasn't too bad a drive once you got out of Orange County.

^^^ Too many bazillions of people per square foot.

Miserable is the word.

75 degrees, dewpoint 71, humidity 90%

Stand still and sweat while trying to get a breath.

Supposed to start drying out and cooling off later today into tomorrow.

Yeah, I love the cool marine layer. It is clear as bell here today with a nice breeze.

Been too hot again for too long. Running AC most days. Maybe not for the next few days. Hopefully not for the rest of the year, but I know better than that.

Been seasonally warm but not crazy hot like earlier in summer. There are dandelions growing in the field in front of my house, unusual to see those this time of year.

14C and rain right now, and the nights do go down to single digits now, but we still get some days where it's in the 20's. Suppose to go back up to 25 mid week.

Mid summer was too bloody hot to do anything, so been getting some outdoor projects done on the days it's not raining now that it's more reasonable out. I did well by booking vacation at this time instead of July-August like I usually do. I'm thinking next year I might even book all my vacation at this time. Still get days off in summer anyway from the fact that I work shifts.

On the beach in south Redondo Beach.

This year has been weird. Near constant marine layer overcast. We normally have June gloom and May gray, but this year it lasted all the way through July and much of August, often causing heavy mist on the south facing side of Palos Verdes around 6-7 AM when I'm riding my bike out there. Heavy enough to soak me. Also, the humidity has been higher than any year I've been here.

Still, rarely ever gets out of the 70s here, which is nice. But not nearly as much sun this year as usual.

It's currently 75 and sunny, humidity at 73%.We had a marine layer at the coast until 10-11AM today. We've had very few sunny mornings. Which is weird this late in the year.

Weird year aside, I wouldn't trade this for anything. I ride the Palos Verdes loop 3-4 times a week. 27 miles and 2000 feet of climbing. It's a great workout and beautiful the whole way.

Fun fact: Every day I pass the filming site of "Santa Rosita State Park" from it's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (the big W is gone now). Sadly, it's crumbling in the near constant landslide going on in the Portuguese Bend section of Palos Verdes.

Man I miss Redondo Beach since leaving LA. Being west facing it's such a great beach to be lazy and ride the swells on my back all afternoon. Whereas I'd go somewhere south facing like Malibu or Huntington when I wanted to bodysurf or surf waves. Always loved stuffing myself with raw oysters at the fish market on the pier there lol.

If the current forecast holds, Saturday could be a near perfect day. Sub 50 morning (which would be the first since April), then clear, dry and low to mid 70s.
