74 and raining all day thanks to Alberto. Very out of place to have a cool day in late June here. Back up into the mid to high 90s by Sunday though.

I quite enjoy hiking through it, especially when it's a bit higher in elevation and I'm pretty much hiking through clouds.I can't remember the last time there was fog here. I mean, the weather people have mentioned it in passing but since it seems to be more of a morning thing, I guess I've missed out.
But I do love fog - not a steady diet but from time to time. It makes everything seem mysterious, enchanted, other worldly. Walking around it, taking deep breaths of mist. Enthralling.
Of course I'm far less sanguine about driving in it.
I actually like the sounds of cicadas here. It wouldn't be summer without them. One of the best things about two days of rain is I don't have to hear the damn cicadas. God I hate hearing those things since they never let me forget it's the dead of summer and they love being loud especially on 100 degree days.
One of many things I was glad to leave behind in the midwest, fuckin' cicadas. One of the best things about two days of rain is I don't have to hear the damn cicadas. Not being summer is a plus in TexasI actually like the sounds of cicadas here. It wouldn't be summer without them.
