Delete this thread...The anandtech members are certainly some of the rudest, and most childish, forum members in all of online communities.

What a turd. The 3000+ system has at LEAST a 50% markup. And that's off Retail parts even on the software.

I don't own that company. I do know the person who owns it. Some rule against knowing him and posting a deal? Doesnt change the fact that its a good deal.

And for all of you knocking his prices, show me an alienware computer that even gets close to them?......waiting......

50% markup in the 3000+?..rofl.. If thats the case, which im sure its not just knowing what i spent to build my own SLI system, alienware and ABS must have a 300% markup in their computers.

Doing some simple math on his 1399 system, i found that system would cost about 1100.00 (at newegg) considering i am aware of the brands and parts he uses. 50% markup? you find that exact system, parts or otherwise, for 699.99 and you let me know, ill buy 10 of them. And thats not even counting any taxes, fees for paypal, etc...and least off, the time he spends to build it.

He's a good guy, just thought with prices like those, it would be a good deal, especially since someone posted "Alienware's" "great" deals in a seperate thread, and their prices are a joke. You want to knock the guy for building quality stuff, and knock me for trying to not only help him out, but show a good deal on some gaming rigs, then go for it...while your at it, go knock alienware for their Aurora SLI system, which is 4700.00 with 6800GT's and a single core FX-55...

And by the way, the people who know me on anandtech know i manage a local computer store and write for the local newspaper's computer column...wish i had time to go out and do something that takes up my entire day on top of all that, like owning a business.

I believe the Optimus could be built for $3K.

Lithan's remark may have been a little over the top...Koff - koff.

1399/1.5=699... with math skills like that I can see how you figure this is a great deal.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128301 $110
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=A64-3000BW $120
http://www.svc.com/arcosi64.html $10
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141154 $75
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827130029 $30
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130214 $310
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144118 $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811145047 $40
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16837116202 $110

$885, all at newegg but cpu and fan. And newegg is hardly the cheapest online source without even considering that if he's not going to be buying from consumer retailers. I'd say this price is about $150-200 over what the builder actually pays for all his parts.

So I was wrong about the 50% markup. It's more like a 75-100% markup. But good job challenging me and making your friends site only look like a bigger ripoff.

PSA: We do flame alienware systems. This is Anandtech - if youre not getting it basically for dirt cheap you shouldnt be buying it.

Just the way I likes my computar.

We pay for performance, not brand names. You admit yourself that the parts can be had off Newegg for ~$300 cheaper and still consider this a hot deal? There's also a great little section here called FS/T where another 20-30% can be knocked off the retail price.

Thats nice. And excuse me for the 50% markup quote. Again, i dont own a business, so when you said 50%, i assumed a double mark-up. My mistake. I dont have to make the prices in the store i manage, the owner handles markups and ordering. closest i would get to that would be doing physical inventory.

Now, as far as your "shopping"...Now have them shipped, built, and shipped to the buyer. Then come up with a new price...and while your at it, purchase the parts he would actually use. What you did was go find the cheapest crap you could. That system comes with a DFI Lanparty SLI board, and all the CPU's are retail box for the warranty. Optical drives are always Lite-on, i can accept the EVGA, because i like them also. The case you chose is a peice of junk. Try a real case with some decent material in it. perhaps a PSU that would actually handle all the stuff in the system. What you looked up is half the problem with some of the PC's being sold lately, you just grabbed the cheapest junk you could.

for the 20 people who buy a PC at alienware today, i bet it was a good deal..perhaps a semi-intelligent person could see that these prices are extremely competitive for that market. What you guys did was shop part by part for the cheapest crap you could find, and then commense to bash the deal...but nobody shopped for a built unit, which is what these are. There is not a computer sold in america, short of the crap at walmart, that cannot be had for a lower price by doing it yourself. For you guys who build you own, and for me personally, yeah i could get it cheaper...for the joe blow who buys his systems, it is one helluva deal...Typical american negativity.

Or being owned? Sorry, I couldn't resist. But really, this is dog eat dog here, and if most of these guys have been building systems since before they could read (insert your own joke here). You gotta show them a deal or be chased away. An average deal doesn't belng here, we can all piece together a system, we need hot deals where sellers are losing their shirts.

I do know my stuff..thanks.

I also know a good deal when i see one, and managing a retail computer store myself, i also am well aware of how much full built SLI systems are going for. I just fail to see how the fact that this was a complete system, not parts, and was meant to be along the same lines as the alienware posts, etc....was missed. If you were not in the market for a full built SLI system, then dont post in the thread. It doesn't concern you if that is the case. I think some of you people fail to realize that less than 1% of the US population is able to succesfully build there own PC, therefore, there IS a market for built systems.

I have already requested the thread be deleted, and certainly i will find a new place to join, community-wise, in the future. Its ashame that some of you think you are the alpha-omega of computers, and that because you build them, everyone can. If everyone in my city could do this stuff, i wouldnt have a job. So once again, this thread was meant as a full system deal, similiar to ABS, alienware, etc, and in that aspect, it is about the best price around, other than the junk on ebay. Thanks for the rudeness, negativity, and childish actions.

And, although it's a common name, how amazingly coincidental and fortuitous is it that OrangeParkTech's name is Joe and the forum administrator there is Joe and the site email contact is Joe and the company name is J-Tech?

Even more amazing is that here it says that Joe Beasley drives the #60 car and that "Joe is the owner of J-Tech computers."

Tsk, tsk. It's not nice to try and fool either Mother Nature or Anandtech members.

edit: Just changed your last name in your profile from Beasley to Anthony, I see.

edit: Now he deleted the Racing page I referenced from the website.

You obviously haven't seen the dell deals on these forums for the past few years. A lot of us Aters/FWers have gotten p4 systems for <$100, so yes, there ARE computers sold in America that can be had for a lower price than doing it yourself.
