Sooo, I have no problem doing it, but there are flashbacks to the time I fried a socket A chip because the shim was off center...

Also, I really don't feel like ordering all the supplies for one de-lid if Silicon Lottery can do it and I know it is done right.

Then head to silicone lottery and insert credit card and happy overclocking.

overclocking boards should just give us a different retension mount so we dont need to reapply the IHS and can just run the die naked.

I bet you would of gotten even better gains, and much lower deltas from idle to load if you didnt have the chunk of metal between the die.
