Would you rather have everything loaded off your slow ass hard drive?

i've got 4gb of ram... it's just that it locks up sometimes because of how much memory it uses and i have to end task it.

Never had that issue and been using FF for a long time so something on your end it seems.

Oh - I had the problem before with the Java plugin or the recently downloaded menu bar.

The hardest part about going from FF3 to FF4 is that they swapped the position of "Open Link in New Window" and "Open Link in New Tab" in the right-click hyperlink context menu.

EDIT:

Although, I guess I could just CTRL + Left Click .

Keyboard shortcuts are for effeminate Mac users.

the only good thing about it is the security upgrades behind the scenes. everything else sucks about it. the zip of omni.jar, the placements and relocation of all the buttons, etc

Use Chrome, you get a speed boost and you can uninstall Flash and Acrobat Reader for good as they are built-in to Chrome and update with it.

I only have 4GB RAM and FF runs just fine for me, I've never had to end-task it. With a regular HDD it did take a bit of time to start the first time, but it was never really an issue. With an SSD it's even more of a non issue.

I run FF all the time at work on systems that only have 2GB of RAM and it runs perfectly fine, again I never have to end-task it. I don't think Firefox is the problem.

The way fonts are rendered in FF4 is annoying. Everything looks more condensed.

it's still a memory hog
I agree.

I upgraded to FF4 and it still used way too much ram.

My system is actually pretty fast and has 4 gigs of ram.

I find the 64bit Namoroka works better.

People still use Acrobat Reader? PDF-XChange Viewer is where it's at.

I dont like how they changed the UI around for FF4. They are trying to go after Chrome's UI but it's throwing people who were used to FF3.6. I thought I'd come back to FF3.6 after the UI changes, but FF3.6 kept crashing for me after the latest security update.
