This is exactly wrong. High school is tedious bullshit. College is drugs and sex, with the occasional break for school work.

High School was just showing up for class, finger banging girls in the locker room and hanging out with friends. It wasn't tedious.

And college was keggers and threeways, staying up until 4 am because class didn't start until 11 and you lived literally in the same building as your classroom, and showing up was optional at best. Ahhhhh.... good times.

Wow, OP, you're ahead of me. I still have 2 more sections of final exams to finish for my classes. Ughh, 20 questions on logarithms and trigonometry for my pre-calculus class.

edit: Done! Just finished typing 20 questions for half of their final exam. (And drew a few graphs in graphing software and copied to the test, etc.)

Enjoy high school while it lasts because after college life sucks

I disagree, I hated high school but post-college life has been great. Just major in something useful in college so you can make a comfortable living working 9-5. Work has been far less stressful than college was for me, I can leave my job behind me every day when I walk out of the office. I'm making decent money so I can afford to do fun things. Life has never been better.

Hmm, I wonder if this attitude:

I would spend the remainder of your HS years chasing tail, playing sports AND not worrying about your SAT scores.

Has any correlation with this result:

Your HS diploma means shit in this world, its meaningless from most employers eyes and does not mean you've accomplished jack shit. If this is all you aspire to do you will lead a life in retail sales working evenings and weekends.

OP

What happened with the results of those essay's that you were complaining about last April?

As I told my daughter who will be graduating HS next year and already passed her HS exit exams.

Her previous 1yr of work history, charming personality, and go fuck yourself attitude will get her somewhere.

She is learning the majority of her HS 'mates are losers, gossipers, drug addicts, ne'r-do-wells, Facebook junkies, and generally shit stirrers. Same goes for her sack of shit public school teachers who are all the poster child for why we need massive education union reform.

Sure - I could have sent her to the $15- $25K a year private HS's in the area, but I wanted her to be well adjusted and not sheltered from these folks.

Oh, and congrats Mr. Yamamammmoto - you've accomplished nothing yet. I would spend the remainder of your HS years chasing tail, playing sports AND not worrying about your SAT scores. Get off the internet forums and go hang out with friends. Your social skills will most likely get you a helluva lot farther in life than that 3.9GP, uber high SAT score, and geeked out look on your face.

I am open to speaking engagements & motivational seminars.

Good luck getting a good scholarship to a good school with a 2.4 GPA

Real Life > School

Look at it this way, would you rather get paid to do shit or have to pay to do shit?

Class of 77 reporting in Sir!

Cool! I can add you to the very small list of ATers that are actually older than I am! I like you. You are my new friend. I often feel so out of place on AT...the OP is a sophmore in HS? OMG...I literally have a "metal band" t-shirt or two that are older than he is.

It really doesn't take a lot of effort to get good grades in high school. Having a good time and doing well academically are in no way mutually exclusive. Things change in college if you're studying something worthwhile (CS, engineering, math, a real science) although most liberal arts majors or social "science" students can coast through college as well.

No fucking clue.

I have a lot of friends. Hang out occasionally. I have a easy going attitude towards life. I don't get mad, ever. My grades are tell shitty. Haven't even taken my sat yet. I'm relaxing. I play ice hockey so I get my stress out that way. I get my laughs on here. Learn a few things. Relationship? Fuck that shit (for now). Prom next year as a junior? Aww fuck man.

Unless you want to go to college/university. Hard to do that with a low gpa.
Actually hard to get a job with low GPA, below 3-3.5 for most majors, out of college as well, but that's a different topic.
