Just finished Blue Shift...
wow that was fast...i expected more but i escaped??

Now with Freeman, Shepard and Calhoun...this will set up an intresting story for halflife 2.
Maybe before hl2, we get to play as GMan where all we do is walk up to windows and look at people like a voyeur..or play as a scientist that found a way to respawn and you go around gibbing yourself.

I'd like to play like a headcrab or one of the other aliens. That perspective hasn't been done yet.

Rankor: That's an interesting idea for H-L. Try Aliens vs. Predator for a taste of what that might be like, if you haven't already.

The only problem with the H-L aliens is that they only have 1 or 2 modes of attack (1 or 2 melee and maybe a ranged attack), so that could get kind of boring after a while. The trick would be to play as different aliens throughout (kind of what AvP did - Marine-Alien-Predator), but that could get irritating. Just as you become adept at being one alien you then become another. Actually, that would solve the problem: you play as some kind of Xen Overmind (to mix my H-L and StarCraft references) and instead of acquiring and changing "weapons" you evolve the ability to change into the various alien types as the situation dictates. The base form could be a Head Crab and the more powerful the alien, the more energy it takes to sustain that form. The energy is derived from cumulative kills (ala AvP again), of course . One Scientist=Zombie, 50 Marines=Gargantua, etc. Add in the OpFor aliens and that's a pretty good range of abilities.

Alert the H-L Mod community. Sounds like this has been done before...

Or should I say, "That perspective hasn't been done yet (in Half-Life)."

Played AvP. Loved being the Alien. Wish there was the numerical superiority as in the movie Aliens, though.

The headcrabs are similar to the baby xenomorphs (Facehuggers) as they hatch out of the eggs. In AvP, if you're the Marine and one of those facehuggers grabs you, it's game over. The same should've been the same for those headcrabs.
