Normally you just drop it in the slot, goes right in, and you put down the little lever...
Is your CPU oriented the right way ?

yes I made sure the arrows were aligned correctly, and did not force down the CPU

Did you ever figure out if you have a case or mobo speaker? A case speaker you have to hook up yourself, and most use the little peizoelectric speakers which have polarity sensitive connectors.

If your mobo has a built-in speaker, your manual should tell you so, and it's not difficult to locate it on the mobo.

Good luck!

I was told my case does not have a speaker, and that the speaker is on the motherboard, but i'm suspecting a burnt ram socket because when I turn it off by using the switch on the back of the Power Supply ( the only way i'm able to turn the PC off ) there is a little spark by the RAM slot

so I'm gonna RMA the Motherboard, Ram and the CPU and just start fresh this time, when I get my replacement parts, I will post back here before I install anything, I would like to this step by step this time

Good luck.

If it turns out you had a defective part, remember, it's not your fault.

I have a suspicion that your new parts will come in and they'll work. Then you'll feel SOOO good, even better than if the new machine worked on the first try.

Good luck bro. Nothing more frustrating than spending time building something and then. . . problems. I've spent many a late night sweating it out over a bad part. Fortunatley, I haven't had a problem like that in years. But I haven't forgotten what it's like.

Consider it a learning experience.

I also suggest you consider taking pics of the process when you get your new parts so we can identify if you've made any mistakes.

Also, I hear the i7 is pretty tough to pull the clamp down. I've seen peopel post that they had to use more force than they're used to -- moreso than the 775 chips. So your experience might be normal.
