Just finished Crysis...

Awesome game.

The entire game from start to finish is great. There is action in every scene.. well, more in the later scene's. Graphics kept crashing me though. I have a feeling I was overheating. Video card was reading 96 C. All in all, one great story, and a cool ending. I won't give out any spoilers. MP is next. I hope its just as cool.

I have an eVGA 8800GT SC in a Lian-Li aluminum tower, it idles at 54-55C and tops out at 74C (with stock cooler) under load in Crysis. I'm escorting Prophet through the frozen canyon now...

I'm playing through my second time in the campaign right now, but this time on the Delta difficulty (I tried on Hard first). And I'm loving it the exact same way I did the first time through, it just can't get old. I couldn't play more than ten minutes in my Episode Two's second game due to the extreme amounts of linearity in it, so a game like Crysis which offers more space to maneuver in and often gives different action sequence results tremendously helps to build up a non-negligible amount of re-playability value. It's always "a little different" (or a lot, depending on your style of game-play of course).

I didn't have that much fun in an FPS since Stalker back in March (and still today too !).

actually the ending was OMG not another halo 2 type ending !!!
Also the game went from awesomeness to stupid script ness after you go into the core.

Story was shocking and worst than Farcry orignal story.

Game was going great till it all went down hill after the core level :!

I agree. It was too heavily scripted in the alien portion - they put you on rails.

almost everyone is hitting upper 80 and 90C on the 8800gt unless they adjust the fan.

I tought it was one of the best sp games until you go in the mine. After that I really didnt like it as much. Still a very good game but for me it stared going doing hill fast when it turned into aliens and mazes instead of killing KPA and jungle fighting.

I have to agree, the game did shift from the Core and beyond. Everything was linear and really really scripted. Especially the carrier part...

Regardless, the story of it all still kept me enjoying the game. All in all, a great game.

I'm running a 8800GT SSC in a P180 case. Running the stock fan at 65% and adding a slot fan cooler, the video card only reaches 68 degrees at load.

I didn't read the thread for fear of spoilers, so maybe it's been said - but jesus christ get an arctic cooler. My 1950xt was running that hot (high 90s with overclock) and it barely hits 60 now that I dropped $30 on the AC with optional fan. Additionally I can push 50 more mhz on the core now.

I gave up on the part where I have to defend the guy that is freezing in his suit. Switch out guns for some alien thing? WTF? Almost as dumb as the original. Going from killing people to mutated creatures? This time it's aliens? I will comment that the graphics were beautiful and the gameplay very good. The storyline though? Quite dull and done before, with the last game no less.

all he needs to do is turn up the fan in Rivatuner or Ntune and the card will stay cool. Capt Caveman,s comment even shows this. for some reason the 8800gt fans arent increasing in speed when the card gets toasty.

As for the OP - holy crapola - get a better cooling solution - riva tuner and/or hardware cooling fan!

Too bad as soon as I finish the first level and get to the village my character dies immediately following the cutscene. No amount of reloading a save or starting over fixes that.

Crysis tried, but it's just not happening. The forums are all buzzing with random glitches and problems that prevent progress in the game. Sad...they worked on this game for how long?

AMAZING GAME. In the top 3-5 best gaming experiences I've ever had. They really did a superb job. I just finished it. Aside from the ending which I felt really let down by, the experience was spectacular.


The battles are never repetitive, always new and interesting stuff, wonderful ride.

The story is a little cheesy but generally quite awesome, particularly when driven by the kind of amazing cinematic, literal CGI movie quality graphics.


This game blew me away, which was even more amazing considering I'd already spent time in the beta multiplayer AND the single player demo.

I give it a 96/100

Probably third finest gaming experience I've had behind FFVII, and HL1



I also played it through first time on "Delta" difficulty, which is not that bad at all, and I really highly recommend it. Makes the game feel very realistic. Took me about 12-15 hours

Many 1000's of people, including myself have played it a several times through with no bugs or problems at all.

Maybe run your system at a more stable level instead O/C it.

My FX57/X1900Xt at stock levels is no powerhouse anymore but at stock speeds its stabile and has no problems at all with the game.

Yep, agreed. What started out as a 95/100 game for me quickly turned into about a 70/100. I really just finished it because I kept on playing waiting for it to become fun again (which never happened). Overall, I'd give it an 80/100 just because the first 2/3 of the game is really, really good. I certainly don't have any desire to play it again though.

You've got to be kidding... go to the crysis forums and see how many people have recurring bugs like shooting aliens who freeze in the air and prevent progress, a blocked path even after all objectives are complete, spawning dead after a CS and unable to skip past it.

It's not overclocking...it's game issues. Overclocking a system does not change the code to make the game randomly do stupid things.
