You've got to be kidding... go to the crysis forums and see how many people have recurring bugs like shooting aliens who freeze in the air and prevent progress, a blocked path even after all objectives are complete, spawning dead after a CS and unable to skip past it.

It's not overclocking...it's game issues. Overclocking a system does not change the code to make the game randomly do stupid things.

Yup, I think I actually hit all of those bugs except the spawning dead one. The 'dead alien freezes in air and doesn't disappear' one was the most annoying for me. That, and not being able to target with the tac gun.

I liked the alien element a lot. It eventually gets old killing the same old Koreans. I actually would have liked to see more alien fighting, but where the aliens responded more palpably to being shot, maybe some cooler nuke action (tac nuking an advancing group of giant tripod aliens from afar, other huge event type action sequences)

Yeah I'm pissed I didn't get to use the tac more. And why the fuck wasn't the MOAR attachment in the game??? (Maybe I just missed it ?)

Still, I absolutely loved every second of this game. I just finished it on Delta, now it's time to start a new game on easy and try to kill every single thing I can find

scripting problems.
*******************spoiler below**********************

after you kill the two tanks, nothing happens at all when there is supposed to be a que to go to your next mission. somebody in some gaming forum posted which direction to head and a lot of us did and after going a ways, the game got back on script.

****begin spolier****

You didn't find shooting at big, dumb stuff flying around with a gun with infinite ammo, a vehicle with infinite ammo, or an infinite supply of rocket launchers a bit tiresome?

I knew there was going to be aliens in the game, but I was thinking that the plot might twist more in the direction of the nano suit being alien tech (which is why some of the KPA had suits too). I kind of figured that the aliens would be more like really good human players (smarter AI with cloak/strength/armor), and not an army of big stupid floaty things. The cut scenes talked about them being highly advanced, but there was really nothing about them as an adversary that would support that notion.

****end spolier*****

They were pretty dumb, that's true. I think they could have been done better. I thought **SPOILER** that sequence in the jungle with the giant alien could have been built upon a lot more. The flying aliens were not that fun to fight, but those giant tripod like aliens could have really been awesome if they were used more. Epic battles with four or five of those tripod aliens smashing through the jungle and cities, nuking them from far off, airstrikes, and then back through the sphere to fight the final battle. (Although perhaps that last part will be in a sequel) ***

you must have the special "bug free edition". there are so many bugs that it has already been confirmed that the first patch will be out in about a week. the physics and AI can act up pretty bad. I have seen flying turtles and frogs , dancing tables, and boxes that can kill you instantly. thats right I said boxes. lol.

Now that you mention it, I remember being killed by a box. I ran up to it and hid behind it and I guess I hit it and it shook a little, then I died. But that was the only bug I ran into.

Well I have the Crysis special ed and it has a 'behind the scenes' disc where I remember some Crytek guy saying the aliens were designed to be pretty dumb. I played it through with no bugs :/ I wouldn't think the Crysis forums is the best place to go for an objective look at how many people have problems with the game, the people that have no problems are not going to start a thread saying 'everything is fine' so you are left with a ton of seemingly endless complaints. I would, however be extremely frustrated if I were in their situation and would probably post a complaint thread so there you go.

*SPOILER*

I was wondering why they gave me a huge Tac Cannon and I couldn't use it until the very final boss on the carrier and even then I only shot it like twice or something underwhelming, would have liked to get more uses out of it than that, especially on the boss before that walks around the deck. I found myself playing Crysis like I did Stalker, stealthy and always trying to remain unseen which is annoying when I can't find out the way to kill guys that have been tranq'd with the dart? I remember seeing some trailer a few months ago where they shot 2 KPA guards with tanq's and they dropped, then you could kill them with the press of a button from a distance without the need to physically run up to them and shoot them. Am I missing something here?

The best bug I found was when I blasted a helicopter out of the air, and one of the rotors landed on a jeep. It stuck through the jeep, and the collision physics would never end. The jeep ended up jiggying into the sky with the rotor embedded into it! It was really too bad that I didn't have a FRAPS type program to record that comedy

Other than that, I played through the entire game, and although there were a couple of obvious bugs, nothing that was show-stopping for me, and I did a lot of exploration.

It took me about 10-11 hours on the default difficulty setting I think.

I found the game to be very demanding on my video card. I could play any other game at higher clocks, but Crysis would cause crashes if I let it ride for more than a few minutes. Sometimes I would hear the fan on my 8800GT spin up to max for a second, then go back down. I'm wondering if bumping the default fan speed up to 45-50% will do the trick. This game needs every frame you can get!

yes I had that too. I had to turn the volume down every time I shot down a chopper because the crashing sound wouldnt stop for several minutes because the physics were jiggling around.

Well, they definitely got that dumb alien thing down... Not sure what the rationale for that decision was.

They might have changed the traq behavior for the release to balance it a bit. it seems like if you can hit a guy pretty much anywhere, put him to sleep, and then kill him from a distance, it would be a tad bit too easy... You can tranq and then headshot with live ammo though, instead of walking up to the guy laying on the ground.

Have you played the demo? You can either take like 40 mins or 4 hours to complete it dpending on how you play... The game is the same up until you get to the aliens.

All I will say is that the final battle dropped my computer to 2 fps pretty much constant. C2D @ 3GHz, 8800 GTX, 2 GB RAM, 1920x1200 with most settings on high (shadows at medium). Didn't even look more impressive than the jungle, just lots of effects going on simultaneously makes it run like complete ass.

And I still managed to beat it somehow... Great game.

For those of you who are unhappy with the aliens... keep an eye on crymod.com.

Someone, who feels as you do, will mod the alien difficulty and AI. You may even find that someone will mod the aliem levels to make them more open, etc.

Wow wow wow...

Spoilers

I thought I finished it at the evac with the Major dying, but guess not. Couldn't tell cause it crashed on me again. There are some really annoying, nut wrenching "black outs" when a level finishes. Either it recovers and loads the next level or it hangs, and I have to start mashing "escape" buttons. Had to reset once yesterday and barely managed to crash to the desktop just now. Oh, and I noticed it was using 1.17Gb of memory. Too bad I won't buy anymore DDR1...

Since I'm not done, I'll put in my final thoughts tomorrow. However, I agree with people that the "human" part of the game is pretty open-ended and one of the BEST single player FPS campaigns ever. The alien part is crap relative to the human one, but it is still adequate for finishing out the story. At least it was better than the first part (tunnels) of Episode 2.

Oh and WTF on the alien part. It started to chug once I left the mountain and into the snow covered exterior. Same settings are smooth in regular jungle.

yes the snow/ice is a chugfest. I had to go from all medium to all low for it just be playable and I find that odd because it is nowhere as detailed as the jungle. this is also the area where I started loosing the most interest in the game. I would have preferred more jungle fighting.

I guess I got the bug free version... seriously, i'm amazed reading some of the bugs some of you witnessed. Besides all the jiggling stuff (which many will consider a bug), there was one where the Koreans would randomly die on me. As if they fell 20 ft. They were just looking for me and they would miss a step or something and fall down dying. It happened about 3 times, it was hilarious.

The TAC gun should have come on earlier in the game. Such a waste to only introduce it and use it twice...

I agree with whoever said the nano suit should have been developed into the story with the aliens. I actually thought it was going to go that route when I was ambushed by the KPA's at the extraction point. Oh well. Lots of what if's and this and that. It was still a kick ass game with awesome graphics.

Overheating is my guess. Tempature readings are of course now a "performance feature". I'm not going to install the craptacular ntune.

I get artifacts or the games video locks and the audio just plays for 10 seconds at a time, then total crash. So that would be overheating I guess.

This is the last time I get a factory over clocked video card. It's even the modest OC model from EVGA.

Riva Tuner helped me. However, I think I'm gonna have to invest in a nice 3rd party vga cooler solution...

Take the side panel off the case and open a window. Voila.

Havent finished it yet. Im at the end (i think) of the of the Relic stage where I get i'm supposed to be extracted out. Instead i got jumped by a bunch of KPA in nano suit. Holy hell wtf. Saw cloaked beings approaching me - thought it was my teammates or something, and I uncloaked. And those bastards started shooting at me!! Totally caught me by surprise and i died in a sec. Threw my hands up in the air and gave up (for now...it's getting late). Man im loving this game! Playing in Hard and really taking my time. Id say I've put maybe 6-7 hrs in this game already (not including the time i spend wandering around when i got stuck cuz of the bug at the end of Recovery stage).
