Just found a tick

Found it on my thigh a few inches from my genitalia. Took awhile to get it off, but I'm not sure if I got it all. The body broke in half while getting it out, leaving the head still attached. I used some tweezer's, and I managed to get everything that was visible out. I'm still worried about lyme disease though. Any tips anyone can offer me?

I had this happen to me too. They just like to go there, since it's all nice and warm. I actually broke off the head inside too, and I've been fine. But still, go see a doctor.

I went on a hike in the woods several days this week, but I was wearing pants, and a hoodie.

Living on a farm, I can't remember how many ticks I've had *everywhere*. I almost never get the head out when I pull them off. Sometimes the immune system will take a week or so to get rid of it.

If you're really freaked, go to a doctor or clinic and have it removed.

I believe ticks that spread lymes are located in upstate new york. lymes is no fun. Although not fatal, you're compromised for the rest of your life.

when I was a kid, I used to play in the woods a lot. I came home one day and was covered in little red things all over my nether region and thighs...chiggers or mites or something, i dunno. my dad gave me some qtips, rubbing alcohol and tweezers and told me to get to work

The whole flame to the tick thing is a myth and does more harm than good.

Just pull it out grasping as close to the skin as possible (best with tweezers).

Just pull it out grasping as close to the skin as possible (best with tweezers).

And since the body was broken off(killing the tick), nothing he does is going to force the head to come out itself.
