This is probably because of the growing tendency for people with vast amounts of knowledge about a technical topic to call the OP a noob, insult the OPs intelligence and to leave the OPs questions unanswered.

I remember fondly the days when intellectual superiority was never a factor on the net. However, those days seem to be passing.

I am not accusing anyone here of this, just saying I notice it more and more. People ask a simple question and then spend a paragraph pre-qualifying themselves to deserve an answer.

But, anyways, sorry about your bad luck, OP. Maybe you could sell that lemon off and try a nforce4 board. You'd still be an early adapter, but at least you would be able to get the full feature set of the nforce4 design.

Rgr that, I merely wanted to establish the fact that I knew enough about the particular components of my system at that time to warrant my decision to buy them. The things that I did not know about, such as the dual channel memory issue, and the bad customer support, were not something that I "should have known" by "doing better research" or "reading more closely."

Obviously some people took this the wrong way and felt they had to enter the thread to guard their reps. Frankly, I was expecting a response from more people like myself who could relate to my frustration and agreed that this time, Gigabyte has crossed the line. I know that it goes as a matter of course for new technology to have quirks, but most companies see their product through with BIOS and/or hardware revisions. This company seems to ditch their mistakes and look to the next marketing opportunity.
