Reminds me of an article I read last year about a woman using MIT(?) free online learning to get a couple of degree's. The article was titled something like I'll have an Ivey league education with no debt. Which is true however you won't have the degree. I'd love a follow up article in a few years about how it worked out. Honestly I'd like to hear a success story but I don't see it going that way.

DeVry Education Group will close 14 of its campuses outside the Chicago area as part of a turnaround plan.
The closings are part of a restructuring announced Thursday, as the for-profit education company reported declines in fiscal third quarter net income and revenue.
Devry's quarterly results included an after-tax charge of $3.9 million related to job cuts and real estate consolidations.
For its fiscal third quarter ended March 31, DeVry reported net income of $47.1 million, or 72 cents a share, down from $55.5 million, or 86 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue decreased 1.3 percent, to $489.8 million.
I thought it was a joke too. I was looking for the reply:What a necro. I thought that this was a parody thread. For profit universities are such a shame. They cost a fortune and post-graduation job prospects are non-existent since such graduates are a dime a dozen, and all seen as inferior to graduates of traditional institutions.
You'd be 1,000x better off going to a community college or a local campus of a large state university.

Totally agree.You're far better off doing a year or two in community college and then transferring to the state school. Your degree will end up being from the state school. For profit "universities" have horrible stats when it comes to job placement/loan defaults/post-degree income - not surprisingly since their only incentive to is to maximize your tuition payment.
