Yes.

You can only improve from here.

After you are done busting your ass one day, after you've done an extreme amount of work and it's time for you to stop for the night and watch T.V. look up the Red Queen Theory, and then crack another book!

Congradulations and work hard.

I am a CET grad from Columbus. If you have any questions, lemme know.

Fair warning though... everyone on ATOT thinks DeVry is equal to a high school vocational school.

And most of them say MS sucks, certifications suck, and make less than people who have certs and work with MS technology. There is a lot of good advice on AT, but remember a lot of it's coming from people who've not even hit the work force yet

I'm thinking maybe you people are mistaking DeVry with ITT Tech or some other place.

DeVry is a 4 year school (although you supposedly get done in 3.5 years because you do summer courses).

I dunno, maybe DeVry is considered trash as well.

I would rather be made fun of working at McDonalds then be made fun of working at McDonalds and having to admit going to DeVry.

Nah, I consider DeVry to be halfway between HS and public uni. In there with the CC's. I do regard DV students higher than CC students, because most CC kids have NO direction, and are just there because they're told they have to be there to succeed.

I saw that when they aired it....there are a ton of those types of schools here in NYC. I'm amazed that people here in the city would even go there when the CUNY (City University) system is so dirt cheap compared to those schools. (I'm a CUNY grad)

DeVry has been around long enough and I never heard anything bad about them though Engineering is pretty demanding and I wonder how its taught there.

Best of luck arcenite and I wish you success!

Nah..thats an unfair look at CC students. I went to a CC (Bronx Community) and I had a wonderful time there. Great professors eager to teach and everyone I met there loved learning. I suppose the CC system is NYC may be different from other places though but I have no complaints at all regarding my CC experience.

Hahaha don't bother putting it on your resume because once a manager sees "DeVry University" it will go straight in the trash.

And what school did you go to? What program? What GPA? What career do you have now?

good luck and learn as much as you can...if this is the way you want to go then more power to you...

in all the places i have worked there have always been devry graduates working as engineers....not techs...earning just as much as 'real' college grads

i have had two managers that are devry grads and this is in well known large companies....

they went on to further education so its all about what you can do and how wll you do it....most engineering managers i have worked with wouldnt give a rats ass where you graduated as long as you can get the job done..

i cant remember a time in my 10+ years as an engineer where schools ever came into play when your working on a project, most engineers will categorize you according to how well you do your job....

right now we all view a guy who apparently graduated from ucla as the worst engineer we have in our group....the only reason we know he is from ucla is all the ucla alumni stuff he has in his cube

These DeVry threads piss me off too much to argue anymore.

Comments like this are absolutely false, and the people who say it are usually college drop outs who feel better about themselves by putting down other schools.

Fvck it... I'm done with this crap.

In complete honesty, I wasn't aware that getting into DeVry was an accept/non-acceptance thing. I imagine there must be some entrance requirement. Other than that, I thought you just had to come up with the tuition.

We've got techs in our cleanrooms who come out of DeVry... but most of our techs have some kind of high school equivalency. In that respect, I am one of the people that edro13 is talking about.

Congrats! Sincerely man. Do well!

Memo: Lockheed Martin offered me a job as a HS student. I politely declined the offer, but can supposedly just call this guy up at any time and jump on it. I just happened to be talking to one of their HR guys, who was doing some kind of PR thing at school and things came up. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work there.
