then go to downloads, but specify an N56vz as your notebook. Under wireless, there will be two software packs to choose from Intel and Atheros. Download the Atheros update manually, then unzip and run it. I tried using Asus Update several times and it always hung during the wireless adapter update, not telling me it never got done.
I love so many attributes of my Asus N56. I'm hoping this update fixes the problems. So far, so good...
