Are those Amazon user reviews for real? All 5 reviewers gave perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

The 51" was also advertised at RC Willey outlets (Salt Lake City) for the same price. If in the area, you could save on the shipping.

If anybody buys this tv they may as well take 900$ bucks out of your wallet and burn it...apex is not worth investing this kind of money sure for cheap dvd players and 13 inch tvs np 50$-150$ for a tv or dvd player for a year or two isnt bad but a big screen? Come on dont even bother........

BTW not intended as a thread crap just a warning to consumers as a salesman who contantly sells apex brand items and gets them returned on a frequent basis.

Wow, some of you are paying attention!
As the tech that fixes these 6 to 18 month old units, I couldn't agree more.
But hey, what do we know, we only do this for a living....

Not to start an argument or anything, but the comments by RobsTV and Madscientist got me wondering - is it possible that you both see this come back often for repairs is because it's also a top-seller in the value department?

I'm just thinking, on the rule of ratio and proportion - the more it sells, the more likely you'll see them back for repairs or returns.

Back home, Sony's are always being returned for repairs and problems - but that's also because it's the #1 brand sold at that time. When Aiwa came out, similar issues came about - but then it was also the time it outsold Sony on household electronics.

On the issue of price, i wouldn't necessarily put this under the "you get what you pay for" department. These things still retail for almost 2x that price - so a discount by Amazon is just a bonus.

There's a $100 rebate that will be available starting 8/17 (found this out over at FW).

Why would anyone buy a old tech 4:3 Non HD TV these days? The 51" says it HD ready but says 480p.....that aint HD!!!

Save your $$$ and get a decent 16x9 HD Ready set..must be able to do 1080i and 720p (for sports..ABC and ESPN use 720p) Some of them like my Phillips have great stretch modes, I watch everything in Widescreen and love it. HD is broadcast almost everywhere in the US....it's in the UHF band a takes a line of site to the transmittors up to 80 miles away. Take a $300 Digital box and a UHF Radio Shack antenna, or you get it from Dish, DirectTV, or your cable company.

I'm watching all NFL/NBA and some MLB in HD. As well as Discovery-HD, Showtime HD, HBO HD and more. It's unreal the detail and color.....

Save your money for a good one, HD is growing fast all over the North America.....

Parhaps you would like to share a "hot deal" with us, or show us a better deal.

LOL! I'm just trying to stop buyers remorse!

I'll share my Hot Deal from last November when I got mine...

BB....had the previous week ad and a Internet price for the Phillips 55" 16x9 HDTV ($2199 at the time).....I asked if they PM'd, they said yes... $200 off right there. Asked if I could get last weeks $100 GC with any HDTV purchase, He offered $100 off instead. Said I wanted the 24 month no interest finacing from previous week,...ok. (since paid off) Wanted the Free Delivery from that ad. Ok. Wanted the free Leather Recliner and Ottoman from that ad. Ok. Added the BB ext warranty (only one that covers Bulb replacement..at $100+ a pop and 2 year life, worth getting 4 yr Ext warranty. $200 I think)

Had 2 Philips rebates, 1) Free LX3500 HTB (Dolby 5.1 and DTS, Progressive Scan DVD player, ok speakers and sub..$350 retail) 2) $80 after 4 DVD purchases.

The TV is on 5am till 11pm+ 7 days a week since then. Got 900 Channels from Cox....DTV and so far HD for CBS/NBC/ESPN/DISC/HBO/SHO with many more to come.

You can get the 60" now for that price. Review of it in Sound and Vision Magazine 2 months ago..did very well.

Never base you decision on what you see on the sales floor. Every TV sold is too bright...that is for showroom "Wow!". But you miss delicate detail in shadows and more. Every TV should be tuned up with one of the DVD's from AVIA or the others. The TV's on the showroom floor are unpacked and turned on 12+ hours a day with no tuneup. The best looking one is usually the more recent one to be unpacked. Do your research and buy with knowledge. Great place to learn: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/

Cheers!
