Hey guys I searched to see if this was a re-post but I didn't see it anywhere so here goes. I just got back from goodguys and it seems the Sony/Ericsson T68m for Cingular is on sale for 99.99 at Goodguys in No. California (concord/bay area.) Then there is a 50 dollar mail in rebate from Cingular, and a 50 dollar mail in rebate from Goodguys. And on top of the rebates you get a 50 dollars of free cell phone accessories when you purchase the phone. To take part of this deal you must be a new subscriber and sign up for a 1 year service contract.
T68m 99.99
cingular rebate -50
goodguys rebate -50
---------------------------------
FREE YEA!
The only thing that sucks about this deal is that goodguys doesn't carry accessories for the t68m so you can't get anything useful with the 50 dollar instore cellpone accessory credit. I spent about 20min arguing with the manager trying to get a gift card but he wouldn't give in so I ended buying my mom 50 bucks of accessories for her nokia 8290.
I have called an confirmed this deal is available all throughout California.
*****Just confirmed that this deal is still going on, I don't know when the end date for the sale is but they tell me that goodguys sale's end on saturdays so you'd still better hurry.

Ok I've been hearing the phone price is dead, but this deal may get hotter for those of you who have jumped on this deal. Now I know this may border on the brag and moan side, but I think it may help people who are new subscribers to cingular.
After I signed up for this phone in No. Cal. I kicked myself because ATT had a better rate plan than cingular's 29.99 local plan(300any/1000 night/weekend). ATT offered a plan for 34.99 that had 500any/unlimited night/weekend, no long distance + no roaming and for me this plan blew away what cingular was offering. So I looked over my contract and found that I had 15 days to cancel my contract without paying the 175 dollar cancellation fee, I just have return my phone and pay the activation fee and pay a prorated monthly service charge. So i decide while the phone is ultra cool, the ATT rate plan was more valuable to me. Well I called up cingular and told them I wanted to cancel my contract and the rep asked me why and I explained the ATT rate plan. Well the rep told me that cingular had a similar rate plan for 39.99 (500any/3000 night/weekend, no long distance + no roaming + roll over minutes) and offered it to me and I refused saying it cost too much. The rep then immediately offered to price match their 39.99 plan to ATT 34.99 and threw in free activation! Now I have the phone I want with the rate plan I want, this ROCKS!
While I know rate plans between cell phone providers very in CA, if you are a new subscriber to cingular you should check out the competition because if there is a better rate plan you can easily take advantage of it with cingular. Now this was inspired by the pervious posts of people renegotiate their contracts for more minutes after their contract ended, I guess when you threaten to cancel your contract cingular will cave to keep you as customer. If this works in the same fashion as contract renegotiations you may be able to call up and just complain until they give you more minutes and threaten cancellation, I?d say you should only complain if there isn't a good rate plan by a competitor to PM. Also, above all remember be polite when you call, I have many friends who've worked in as phone reps and you won't get anywhere with rudeness
